Help me solve this strange mystery?!?!

I’m sorry but something happened last night and I will not move past it until the mystery is solved.

I loaded the dishwasher with the usual plates, cutlery etc and the last thing to be added was a big dish that the lasagne was in. I clearly remember putting it in there as I had to slightly manoeuvre it to get it in (it’s quite a big dish).

Any way………. The cycle finished. The dish is gone. Nowhere to be seen. Wasn’t in the dishwasher when I unloaded it. Not in the house.

What. On. Earth. Is. Going. On.

Either….. 1. I am crazy or 2. The dishwasher ate it.

There is simply no explanation.

Whatever is directly opposite your dishwasher, look there. I think it’s slid underneath.

RTFT. The OP found it in the spare room.

I’m sure it’s already been said, but classic glitch in the matrix shenanigans. Lost my favourite ring in a glitch. Still waiting for it’s return…

Check down the cushions of your sofa/chairs. Years ago my dh lost his wedding ring, a while later we got a new suite. As we were carrying one of the old chairs to the skip, his ring fell out and rolled across the ground. We gave the other chair to my mum. She also lost her wedding ring and a couple of years later asked my nephew to take the chair to the tip. Same thing happened, as my nephew was carrying it across the car park to the tip her ring rolled out.

I'm chuckling. How big was the dish for lasagne for two people? Do you always unload the dishwasher before you go to bed? Because most of us unload it the next day. Does your DP have a wicked sense of humour? Or could your DP have broken it and hidden the evidence? Does your DP secretly hate your lasagne? Even better does your DP want to section you? If you don't know what happened to the dish, willing to guarantee your partner does. Or are you both hoping to become TikTok stars/influencers for the paranormal?

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 12/11/2023 19:08

I hate to say I told you so but.... I so did tell you it would be in the spare room...

Lolalady · 12/11/2023 19:17

Similar thing happened to me with a pair of glasses. Glasses were in case in my car as I was going away. Glass case empty on arrival at destination. Thought ok, they’ve fallen out and are in car. On return home being slightly puzzled by disappearance I turned the car out - no glasses. Fast forward some time later I picked up the glasses case thinking I might as well dispose of it when I realised it had something in it -hey presto! My glasses! My face must have been a picture! I’ve yet to worK out what happened.

AtomicPumpkin · 12/11/2023 19:20

I think your dish had planned to run away with the spoon, but the spoon changed her mind at the last moment. So the dish has been sulking in the spare room.

Trishthedish · 12/11/2023 20:11

So weird

Isodor · 12/11/2023 20:53

It's obvious - your hubby dislikes your lasagna... :-)

NorthCliffs · 11/11/2023 14:22

Your husband dropped it taking it out and has hidden the evidence.

This is the most likely explanation.

JeanJay · 12/11/2023 21:35

You clearly found a glitch in the matrix.

MsAdoraBelleDearheartVonLipwig · 12/11/2023 21:39

I do this all the time. Absolutely no recollection at all. I can even do it in the car, suddenly realise that I have absolutely no memory of some of the journey because I’m just on auto pilot. Dh is constantly reminding me of things. I blame perimenopause. Don’t think that’s the case with your Dh though.

Moll2020 · 12/11/2023 21:40

This is what happened!!
"Hey, diddle, diddle,"
BY MOTHER GOOSE
Hey, diddle, diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon;
The little dog laughed
To see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.

Scorpio75kaz · 12/11/2023 21:47

This really made me chuckle - as my wok has disappeared. I remember washing it up the last time I used it, went to get it a few days later - can’t find it anywhere….
no one’s borrowed it, it’s just vanished.
I spent 3 days hunting for it! Nowhere to be seen.

shehasglasses48 · 12/11/2023 22:02

Do you live alone?

JubileeQueen123 · 12/11/2023 22:09

It’s in the garden

GMH1974 · 12/11/2023 22:16

Could you have accidentally put it where you keep the dishwasher tablets, perhaps under the sink?

MadeOfAllWork · 12/11/2023 22:20

Why are people still suggesting where it might be? The op has found it!

petelacey · 12/11/2023 22:47

What material was the lasagne dish made from? I notice some plastics dissolve with dishwasher tablets.

CustardySergeant · 12/11/2023 23:08

THE OP FOUND THE DISH YESTERDAY

Redebs · 13/11/2023 08:11

OP have you checked the spare room?

🙊

1ittlegreen · 13/11/2023 08:12

This exact thing has happened to me twice, both times with putting a blade for a magimix mini into the dishwasher. I had to buy replacements and.....it has just happened again.

I have no idea and it pisses me off so I'm not buying another blade as a punishment to whatever naughty ghost is doing this.
