Help me solve this strange mystery?!?!

I’m sorry but something happened last night and I will not move past it until the mystery is solved.

I loaded the dishwasher with the usual plates, cutlery etc and the last thing to be added was a big dish that the lasagne was in. I clearly remember putting it in there as I had to slightly manoeuvre it to get it in (it’s quite a big dish).

Any way………. The cycle finished. The dish is gone. Nowhere to be seen. Wasn’t in the dishwasher when I unloaded it. Not in the house.

What. On. Earth. Is. Going. On.

Either….. 1. I am crazy or 2. The dishwasher ate it.

There is simply no explanation.

Did you bin it by accident? It’s my only explanation!

Who else is in the house?

Could they have come down first thing and taken the dish out?

It's in cahoots with the washer that is stealing your socks

I must add… myself and DP were sat in the living room (open plan and connected to kitchen) throughout the whole cycle. So no one stole it, not even the aliens! Not like anyone would think to break into a first floor flat just to get an old lasagne dish….. surely….

Look in the oven

Looked in the oven, cupboards, bins.. no where. It’s actually creepy. What the hell happened to it?!

Fridge? Or freezer?

Your husband dropped it taking it out and has hidden the evidence.

Your dp found a stray pan and couldn't fit it in the dishwasher with the bug dish in so swapped them.
He then couldn't face hand washing a dish with baked-on lasagna so binned it and hoped you wouldn't notice.

Is it one of the mythical Dolmio ones that actually fit the sheets of lasagne perfectly up to the edge?

Because there's a roaring black market for those and had I known you had one I would have stolen it. Don't discount mumsnetters breaking in during your investigation process.

It’s crazy how it’s taken over the whole day. I’ve turned the place upside down. Not like it would be anywhere that i’ve checked because I 1000000000% put it in the dishwasher?! Maybe I will need to live with this. I will never look at a lasagne the same ever again.

Could it have broken and the pieces are lying at the bottom of the dishwasher?

Was there a large empty space in the dishwasher still where you put the dish?

So weird. I mean everything is made up of tiny atoms that aren’t really anything at all so anything technically is possible.. could have just dissapeared.. or a ghost took it

@Ankerdam yes! It was so noticeable when I opened the door. I knew right away!

Nothing at the bottom of the dishwasher..

What time did you put it in the dishwasher.
What time did you turn it on.
What time did the cycle finish.
Did you unload straight away or wait until morning?

Check your outside bin, I agree with pp that your dh broke it and hid the evidence.

I think you must have put it down somewhere while you were re-jigging stuff to get it in then forgot to put it in, set the dishwasher going and gone about your day thinking you'd put it in there.

Just marking my place because now I too am invested in the Disappearance of the Lasagne Dish.
