Please tell me where! I've been to the Isle of Wight and looked in all the places I was told about, no luck. Same to a place in Scotland they apparently live in the garden, nowt. Please help me see one!

Ibizabar · 03/11/2023 17:55

Yes in the Lake District. Near Ullswater.

CampervanKween · 03/11/2023 17:55

Yes, Centerparcs in the Lake District.

stripybluesocks · 03/11/2023 17:55

well, they are wild, you can never guarantee a sighting of a wild animal.

YireosDodeAver · 03/11/2023 17:55

We saw one on Brownsea Island too but only for a split second. Don't make a special trip if that's your only goal!

I have seen some in captivity too.

stripybluesocks · 03/11/2023 17:56

Has anyone else seen black squirrels?

Gizlotsmum · 03/11/2023 17:56

Anglesey Newborough, Lake District railway walk just near Keswick.

WhatHaveIFound · 03/11/2023 17:56

Yes at the National Trust, Formby.

Redlarge · 03/11/2023 17:56

Yes. Anglesey, Merseyside

LuluBlakey1 · 03/11/2023 17:56

Loads of them in Northumberland. Go to Howick Hall and you are almost guaranteed to see them. I see them every time we are in the Cheviots. My friend gets them in her garden just outside of Morpeth.

declutteringonedayatatime · 03/11/2023 17:56

I saw one in Grasmere in Lake District in July this year.

cocksstrideintheevening · 03/11/2023 17:56

No,lots of signs on IoW but didnt see any.

Did have an albino (grey) one that lived in my school grounds, that was quite interesting.

Badknitter · 03/11/2023 17:57

On the bedroom windowsill. Lives on the edge of the Lake District at the time.

countrybump · 03/11/2023 17:57

Brownsea Island, Scottish highlands and Formby. Love Red Squirrels!

Blueberrycreampie · 03/11/2023 17:57

Yes in Scotland but a long time ago when they still existed there. Not sure if they still do? Don't think I've seen one on IOW?

LunaNorth · 03/11/2023 17:57

Once in the Black Forest and once in Scotland. They’re really little!

GeneCity · 03/11/2023 17:57

I've seen lots in various places in Scotland.

HundredMilesAnHour · 03/11/2023 17:58

I saw 11 on Brownsea Island last month, despite it raining. Never seen them in Formby. A lot of the locals are saying that they're no longer in Formby as there are so few (if any) sightings in recent times.

Spinderellaseverywhere · 03/11/2023 17:58

Holland!
