Following on from the discussion about actors who are not, who are the ones who are?

To me, Gone Girl was beautifully cast. Ben Affleck as Nick, Rosamund Pike as Amy, all of the minor characters...

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool obviously.

@Bedbynoon just the small amount I saw of the first episode on Netflix was so bad that I really want to unsee it! I love the books and the Megan series so much I feel it’s tainted them slightly.

I love Tom Burke but he is absolutely not at all what I pictured Cormoran Strike as. I pictured him much taller, blonder, curlier and heavier set.

Woody Harrellson in Hunger Games. Also True Detective. An exceptional (and underrated) actor.

Andre Royo as Bubbles in The Wire. So good and realistic, almost feels like a documentary at times.

Everyone in Love Actually, other than Martine McCutcheon and the little boy. Both hammed up their characters to the extent they weren't believable.

Emma Thompson was flawless, you really felt her pain.

At random moments Rowan Atkinson's shop assistant scene comes into my mind and I burst out laughing.

Alan Richardson as Reacher and Henry Cavill as The Witcher are definitely the book characters made flesh.

Nelsan Ellis as Lafayette in True Blood was fabulous, as was Rutina Wesley as Tara.

James Callis as Gaius Balthar in Battlestar Galactica was perfect.

Not Hugh grant. Hugh grant plays Hugh grant in everything he's in. The only reason I knew he was prime minister in love actually was because he walked through the door of no.10.

I came onto say this. He got the voice, the mannerisms and the general creepiness just right.

Agree especially Kim Bodnia. Great casting.

Domhnall Gleeson in Revenant - he was exactly how I'd imagine upright and honest army officer somehow landed in that godforsaken place.

Adam Nagaitis as the baddy Cornelius in The Terror (the ship one), suitably sneaky, conniving and evil.

Oh god yes agree with the last one. I voted in some tv awards and I wanted to choose him for best actor. The younger guy was an option but he wasn't.
