Do you know anyone who has never had Covid?

Most adults I know have had it multiple times, especially people with kids at school. Most kids have had it multiple times. But a lady at work says she and her husband have had it, and they are going to participate in a medical study. And now I just wondered if not having Covid is unusual or whether lots of people have managed to avoid it all this time.

DM (late 70's) has never had it, despite her blatant disregard of isolation rules. TBF she probably has had it but wouldn't admit to it.

Also DS(19) has never had it, despite living in the same small house as DH and I when we had it.

Watercoloursky · 05/10/2023 13:41

As far as we know, my parents, unless they've had it asymptomatically.

Teaandbiscuits60 · 05/10/2023 13:41

Hubs and I have never had it.

Malbecmoron · 05/10/2023 15:46

I haven't had it

Greensleevevssnotnose · 05/10/2023 15:48

Me nd my partner

Terrribletwos · 05/10/2023 15:50

Never worn a mask, travelled extensively in uk and abroad. Didn't take the vaccination.
Never had covid nor been ill.

ruby1957 · 05/10/2023 15:53

I am over 75 and since I never tested I do not know if I had it. But I never felt ill enough to consider I had had it.

I did have the 2 initial jabs but refused any subsequent boosters.

As I lived through previous 'pandemics' in the 1950s/1960s - I assume that may have helped.

I did go out and about throughout, tried to do without masking but was careful with hand washing.

OneFrenchEgg · 05/10/2023 15:53

Me, never had it. Been vaccinated now. Half the kids have had it, half haven't. Weirdly the neurodivergent half have been Covid free.

gerteddy · 05/10/2023 16:46

Yes. Me, dh, both kids. My parents too.

My sisters and sil the whole family have had it multiple times.

I do wonder if we are immune or had it and not known. I've had so many tests and the kids too when it was drive through ones. Also the home kits when they came out. I've been quite certain once I had it but done test at drive through site and it was negative 🤷🏻‍♀️

PassMeTheRedbull · 05/10/2023 17:17

Me and any of my 3 kids have ever had it.

ilovepixie · 05/10/2023 19:52

I didn't get it until last July despite being a retail worker and working all the way through the pandemic. Then I got it last week she gave it to my mum who hasn't had it before. A friend at work has never had it either.

NancyJoan · 06/10/2023 06:40

My DS. Despite numerous cases in school, and me, DH and DD all having it.

BelleSauvage9 · 06/10/2023 06:44

To my knowledge (haven't tested for every cold like illness since maybe mid 2021) myself, my partner and my children haven't had it. Actually I have tested myself once since then (feb 2023) because I couldn't taste a banana milkshake but test was negative.

88Pandora88 · 06/10/2023 06:47

Me, dh and 2 x dd never had it. I work in childcare, been around others who've had it and had to isolate (back when that was the done thing) and still never had it. 1 dd is school age other nursery, so been around a wide range of others.

Don't think my parents have had it either, both worked in high schools, yet my mil and fil have both had it twice I believe

Wickedgreengirl · 06/10/2023 07:02

My mum had it last year and my dad (who has a serious lung condition) didn’t catch it despite looking after mum the whole time she was ill.

Kwasi · 06/10/2023 07:31

Me, DH & DS have never had a positive test. We have taken tests when we’ve had colds/symptoms or had to for travel, etc. We followed all guidelines during the pandemic. I am single vaccinated but DH & DS have had no vaccinations.

Miss93 · 06/10/2023 07:36

My dp ,and 1 have never had it.
2 of my 5 kids never had it.
The now 13 year old had it just when it was coming out,he had symptoms that actually weren't considered COVID at the time. But I'm convinced we're.
My eldest had it a few times.

Samlewis96 · 06/10/2023 07:57

I've ever had it . In fact I've not even had a cold for years. I spent lockdown out and About doing deliveries. My teenage son had it but didn't get from him either. My grandson also not had it despite both his parents getting it

And also was in hospital for operation for cancer during that time as well but no shielding ( I needed to work both for ££ and sanity) and not neurotic about masks etc I'd wear one if enforced but not through choice

SamW98 · 06/10/2023 08:06

Yes my parents.

AbbeyGailsParty · 06/10/2023 08:21

Me (60s)
DD, her husband and kids x 3
best friend ( (60)

I never had a childhood illness, measles, chickenpox etc… while siblings did ( no mmr jabs in those days!) Rarely catch a cold and if I do it lasts a day, 2 days at most. I’ve had flu once, when I was 16. Some sort of different immune system? Genetics? On the downsize every relative seems to drop dead at 70 so swings and roundabouts.

ImNotSayingAWord · 06/10/2023 10:49

My daughter is the only one from our family of 6 to never have it.

My parents, sister, brother and in-laws have all had. We must be lucky!

tiger2691 · 06/10/2023 11:21

Two neighbours, different households, neither have had any jabs at all, neither were/ are they reclusive, far from it.

Sjh15 · 06/10/2023 11:51

I’ve never had covid. To my knowledge anyway. There was one time I was poorly that COULD have been covid but at that time we had no tests in. My DP had it and me and our DS never caught it.

to add, we are single vaccinated (DS is not). We only got single vaccinated because of our DS being a baby. It seems to be a weird correlation I’ve noticed the more jabs you have, the more often you seem to catch it, and usually worse (from my friends and fam experience)

Unfortun8 · 06/10/2023 12:43

My mum never caught it. Despite being around people who were positive (including me) and she was in her nineties. My brother has never had it either and lives in a care home and had several hospital stays when the wards were rife with it
