What’s the drama in your local FB site?

Anticipation Popcorn GIF

Mine’s is that somebody hung their washing in front of their neighbour’s window (colony flats), neighbour went into the garden and pushed it to the corner of the line and left a (unnecessarily) curt note, and now the whole thing is being played out via our local share site.
I am now over invested in this dispute between two people I will never meet, over a problem of vanishing significance.

Mine is about people feeding other people's cats and keeping them in at night, and it has escalated to offers of physical violence if the culprit is found.

Other people are chiming in to tell the OP that her cat just doesn't like her and is avoiding her because she's shrill.

MrsS0fa · 01/10/2023 11:20

I am missing out big time - mine is mainly plumbers and hairdressers advertising their businesses! Sad lack of drama round these parts.

itsgettingweird · 01/10/2023 11:23

Mine is about a closed motorway due to serious incident and teats allowing their children to walk down the closed motorway to see what's going on (air ambulance)

Oh and police ticketing people who ignored the X lane and blocked emergency services.

This morning I'm longing for the shit washing and these kids did X in town posts.

They have a sad but interesting time consuming thing about them Grin

MrsMurphyIWish · 01/10/2023 11:24

I didn't watch this live (as I can't stay awake past 10pm), but last night there was a long running thread about someone who lived over a beautician's and they were having an opening party ... there were hourly updates of the music/drunk people. The comments were divided between "get a life" and "arseholes". It was like MN!

BlackberrySky · 01/10/2023 11:26

Ours is about some flytipping that someone reported late last night and moaning that it hasn't been removed at 9am on a Sunday morning 🙄

MrsMurphyIWish · 01/10/2023 11:27

we also have a lot of footage from ring doorbells along the lines of "Be aware. This person looks dodgy".

My favourite was when someone posted footage of two people looking in bushes - obviously criminals. The people replied and said "it's us, we were looking for a missing dog".

ladygindiva · 01/10/2023 11:27

Mine is people parking on double yellows/ corners/ across driveways and blocking the bus / Sainsbury's delivery man / ambulance / DPD driver from getting through. Endlessly .

Ostryga · 01/10/2023 11:28

The big one is someone’s bully-type dog snapped its lead and killed someone’s cat in their garden. They have posted the video and it’s causing uproar. So sad as well, but there’s mob mentality starting.

Jakadaal · 01/10/2023 11:31

Dog poo -
It's always about dog poo along with videos
From Ring doorbells showing the dog poo

Ilikewinter · 01/10/2023 11:32

Ours is that the local park has had a makeover .... and its not good enough apparantly 🙈 .... im waiting to see how long it takes to be vandalised!

TeenLifeMum · 01/10/2023 11:34

A teen on a bike with blonde hair who was seen looking in a bag (clearly about to steal something) when the owner returned and yelled at him for stealing the boy rode off… the bag was totally unattended so maybe the boy was just looking to see if there was any id? This hasn’t occurred to anyone. Most of the teens I know would have been doing that rather than stealing but on fb they always assume the worst.

no explanation why the bag was unattended. It’s very odd and non eventful.

Coffeaddict · 01/10/2023 11:35

I live in a trial LTN. It is very very heated and like most things no one seems to see a middle ground and see the arguments of the the other side.

I lean one way ( which way is unimportant) but can understand the arguments for and against but some are just so polarised ( and think whoever shouts the loudest is right) that I'm completely avoiding any of the meetings surrounding it.

TheChosenTwo · 01/10/2023 11:37

Mine used to be mainly about potholes and anti social behaviour. I don’t use it anymore but I expect it’s still the same!

drspouse · 01/10/2023 11:39

I had my own drama. I was giving away some stuff and said "drop by at X time, I can't hold things because I need it gone". Someone asked me to hold a £2 toy and I repeated that I couldn't hold stuff. She threatened to report me to admin.
So morning of, three people popped round first thing to say how out of order she was and one took the toy on purpose to annoy her!

Liverpool52 · 01/10/2023 11:40

I'm still on the FB page for the village in Wales where I grew up and my parents still live.

There is currently a very exasperated local councillor begging people to stop vandalising 20 mph speed signs and posting examples of said vadalism ranging from simple spray paint to pictures of Drakeford plastered over the signs with people's opinion of him in large letters.

vickibee · 01/10/2023 11:41

Kids putting inky hand prints on people’s cars on their way home from school.

MermaidEyes · 01/10/2023 11:42

All mine are about potholes, the state of the roads and the constant traffic lights/roadworks/road closures causing permanent chaos. Nothing else to talk about in my boring little part of the world 😆

verdantverdure · 01/10/2023 11:43

A greyhound savaging and killing a cat.

Ring doorbell footage.

>deletes Facebook app<

Tisfortired · 01/10/2023 11:45

I have mine hidden because I find it so annoying and pedantic. I have just been on to check and we have…

‘can anyone recommend a plasterer’

a local councillor showing off some hedges she’s had trimmed back from the road so people can use the pavement

a lost border collie

‘what’s that burning smell’

‘anyone missing two pints of milk and and an orange juice left in my door step’

Just the usual

SisterMichaelsHabit · 01/10/2023 11:47

We've just had our potholes fixed. But apparently the repairs are an "eyesore" because they're black tarmac on a beige concrete road. 🙄 Like okay Colin they didn't colour match the repair but I'd rather my car axle was intact in six months.

Needmorelego · 01/10/2023 11:49

"Why is the helicopter out"
🚁

Mmmmboppp · 01/10/2023 11:49

An ongoing saga about a man who locks his barky dogs outside at night.

And the usual parking on pavements, dog poo, ‘does anyone recognise the doorstep in this Evri photograph’ posts.

NonMiDispiace · 01/10/2023 11:49

The usual village whinger carrying on about no one volunteering to clear the churchyard
Cattle/sheep out on the road
Miscellaneous things going free
Absolutely nothing of interest usually 😊

Cotswoldbee · 01/10/2023 11:50

Ours is also flooded with people selling services (tiling, loft boarding, sweets & ice-cream, home nails etc) but other than that it is usually parking, lack of RM delivery etc.

The best one however is a knob who is always moaning about people parking outside his house on "his" bit of the road yet he is constantly parking multiple cars all over the place and is often blocking pavements, parking on street corner etc.
His best one however is when Amazon make a misdelivery of a parcel he is expecting (maybe he has the wrong address on his profile as it seems to happen often?), he posts on FB and demands that the parcel is taken to his house (he never offers to collect) and the word "please" never makes an appearance.

FawltyTower · 01/10/2023 11:50

I'm in Wales. It's ALLLL about 20mph now.

  • People still going 30 when in a 20 zone.
  • People going 20 when it's actually still a 30 or 40 on that road
  • Unable to overtake a cyclist
  • Gas emissions
  • Dangerous driving because x person was clearly staring at their speedometer rather than the road

100 variations of this basically 😂
