Anticipation Popcorn GIF

Mine’s is that somebody hung their washing in front of their neighbour’s window (colony flats), neighbour went into the garden and pushed it to the corner of the line and left a (unnecessarily) curt note, and now the whole thing is being played out via our local share site.
I am now over invested in this dispute between two people I will never meet, over a problem of vanishing significance.

Heehee! You live near me OP!

Needmorelego · 01/10/2023 12:40

@FacebookGroupDrama I will confess that I do get into arguments/over excited discussions quite frequently on a couple of the groups.....😬
Sorry 😂

"Why is the helicopter out"
🚁

Midlands? 😂

Jayneisagirlsname · 01/10/2023 12:42

Ours comes to life whenever another car gets stuck in the car trap on our busway. I think there were about 8 in September! No one can fathom why people keep driving through there when there are signs everywhere.

Lots of 'you can't park there mate' memes are shared.

Needmorelego · 01/10/2023 12:43

Everywhere @Theunamedcat . Literally every Facebook group everywhere.
😂🚁
(what did humans get excited for before helicopters were invented)

GoFaster83 · 01/10/2023 12:43

(I swear I'm neither the person with the washing nor the person moving the washing!)

Dontcallmescarface · 01/10/2023 12:44

We have a good one at the moment. A group of people who have just moved into the new builds are demanding we all sign their petition against new houses being built in the field behind them, despite knowing that when they all bought their shiny new homes that field was earmarked for "phase 2" of the development. We also have the usual "does anyone know what time the Co_Op shuts?" ones...most of the replies consist of "Google it!"

What's a car trap? I'm imagining it's similar to Mousetrap the board game but I feel the reality might be less exciting.

Mine is about a closed motorway due to serious incident and teats allowing their children to walk down the closed motorway to see what's going on (air ambulance)

Oh and police ticketing people who ignored the X lane and blocked emergency services.

This morning I'm longing for the shit washing and these kids did X in town posts.

They have a sad but interesting time consuming thing about them Grin

We must live in the same area, I saw this on FB. Looks to have been cleared now.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 01/10/2023 12:45

Stolen wheely bin. Makes a change from “is this anyone’s cat” and speeding.

TeenLifeMum · 01/10/2023 12:45

@Needmorelego omg we get the helicopter 🚁 one a lot. We live in a small town with a landlocked naval base that flies helicopters and a large helicopter manufacturer, yet still people post this question!

Swans. Always the swans.

Where they are, how they're doing, if they've still got all their cygnets.

This sounds exactly like my local group too. We started with 4 cygnets, we now have 2.

Chewbecca · 01/10/2023 12:46

Ours is quite sweet:

  • thanking people for thanking them for a piece of furniture.
  • thanking a bus driver for letting a kid on with no money
  • Does anyone know who owns this lovely cat who visits
  • look at this lovely plant in my garden
  • the Brent Geese have returned

As well as lots of requests for recommendations.

Needmorelego · 01/10/2023 12:47

@FacebookGroupDrama hey you know you are getting an extra day for the fair this year?
#controversial

WildFlowerBees · 01/10/2023 12:47

Ours has some foaming parents over a child's bike. Lots of 'your right to be angry' and 'I seen x when I was coming out of the little Tesco' admin are trying to quell the vigilante comments. Pretty sure it'll get deleted soon.

Other than that it's the same business suggesting folk hire them for a gutter clean.

Jayneisagirlsname · 01/10/2023 12:48

Hellocatshome definitely not as exciting! Only buses are allowed through so there are holes in the road to stop cars getting through.
Rumour has it, a woman in a massive 4x4 managed to drive through to cheers from adoring crowd

What’s the drama in your local FB site?
Theunamedcat · 01/10/2023 12:48

Is the bridge open? What do you mean its going to be closed for 324 days what about the shops??? Can you get to the shops?? They are going to lose money (waffles about covid)

The ticket machine in xyz carpark took my money but I've got a ticket how do I prove I've paid? Did you use the app? No did you use your card? NO I PAID CASH OF COURSE HOW CAN I PROVE I PAID did you keep your ticket FUCKING NO WHY WOULD I KEEP MY TICKET????? Because every week its posted this machine is shit and doesn't register you have paid? Always followed by "someone needs to be told" following week....has anyone else had trouble with xyz carpark? I've had a ticket 😣

Metatarse · 01/10/2023 12:48
  • bike/ moped stolen from garden last night.
-Anyone know who's bike this is? Been dumped in alley/ path/ Park.

And yet, they're never the same ones.

-20mph rages on
-strange smell/ sounds

  • hi, just moved in. Anyone got a sofa, shelves and bedside cabinet they could give me? Must deliver, I don't drive.
Armychefbethebest · 01/10/2023 12:49

Ours caught on camera a well known drug user giving a man a blow job at 9 a m ,captioned x audition for the 2024 apple bobbing competition lol

35965a · 01/10/2023 12:49

“How dare people cross the road when they see me walking my XL bullies, this is discrimination” (they genuinely used the words discrimination and are getting a lot of support in the comments)

Justwingingit2005 · 01/10/2023 12:50

Are the road closed signs causing a traffic obstruction..... been on going for 3 days.

Itisyourturntowashthebath · 01/10/2023 12:51

Our is quite exciting at the moment. Extra police patrols as there is a young flasher who is targeting elderly ladies. The police are keen to catch him before someone else does.

Then loads of the normal stuff about 'this is a picture of my parcel on someone else's door step'

MissMarplesGoddaughter · 01/10/2023 12:52

Dog poo
Why is there a Chinook helicopter flying over?
Cars stolen from drives over night
Missing cats and dogs
Left school projects / phones / bags on buses / trains / trams

AmicableHonest · 01/10/2023 12:52

Normally very quiet on my local page, but some arsehole cut down a very large significant tree nearby this week so there's a fair amount of naming and shaming of those arrested. What's very amusing is the polarising effect this has had - some people offering venues for the community to come together and collectively grieve the tree (I'm not kidding) while other suggesting very tongue in cheek that we should all stand outside our houses at 8pm and clap for a minute followed by a minute's silence. Many are not amused at the people being flippant. It's a glorious insight into human nature.

TheFormidableMrsC · 01/10/2023 12:53

Feeding other peoples cats.

Why is the police helicopter out.

Parking.

Smell of weed.

Smell of pigs.

Last week it was somebody going round in the small hours taking parts off peoples cars. Lots of Ring footage.

Buses and how late/cancelled they are.

Barking dogs.
