What’s the drama in your local FB site?

Mine’s is that somebody hung their washing in front of their neighbour’s window (colony flats), neighbour went into the garden and pushed it to the corner of the line and left a (unnecessarily) curt note, and now the whole thing is being played out via our local share site.
I am now over invested in this dispute between two people I will never meet, over a problem of vanishing significance.

The Bin Wars on my local facebook page. Bit of background, our binmen wont take bins that are over full or contain the wrong items (there are 4 bins collected on different schedules - blue, black, green and grey) and the local council charge £25 for a replacement wheelie bin.

Every day there is at least 1 post about bins - stolen bins, damaged bins, some neighbour using their bins, stolen bin being returned but is full, when is bin day, what colour bin do I put out this week, i work so can you put out or bring in my bin.

People curtain twitch to spot bin thieves. People share CCTV footage of people taking the wrong bins. People mention how they will head down the ginnels to peek over back yard walls to find their missing bin. People will empty rubbish out of stolen bins in the thieves garden or at least threaten to. We have even had bin painting/numbering days with local artists funded by the council to try combat thefts.

There was outrage a few weeks back when someone was photographed taking multiple bins of the same colour (your only allowed one of each) back to their house with name calling and threats of violence.

We had a live minute-by-minute post a while back about doggers congregating and banging in the social club car park.

There was much annoyance about it, mainly because the social club was open at the time 😂

The mysterious “hum” that a few people can hear and others can’t. They can usually hear it on a still evening and I’m adamant that it’s just a nearby hot tub circulating water. But of course there’s always another explanation (aliens, magnetic fields, 5G masts, traffic a mile away)

People crashing into parked cars and not leaving details
People stealing cars, bikes etc ‘make it too hot to handle’
Parking
Loads of people wanting furniture, TVs, washing machines, fridges, sofas, tables, but they don’t have any money, so could they be free please.

Mine is full of grainy ring doorbell footage of blokes in hoodies trying car door handles at night. Makes me want to scream "What the hell do you think I am going to do differently as a result of your crappy footage? People don't need reminding to lock their cars at night!"

The village arsonist has apparently stabbed his mother.

Well this thread has taken a sinister turn

Drama of the day is a gatehouse being auctioned off by the council as they can’t afford to renovate it. Apparently it’s been empty for ten years, since the last tenant died and it’s been allowed to become derelict.
Daily dramas, missing/dead cats, dog mess, phone mast.

Yeah, it used to be all about dog poo, but things have escalated over the past couple of years. The village hopes that he gets carted away at some point, but he's under 18 and is getting away with some bad stuff. There were lots of blue flashing lights the other night though, so perhaps he's been lifted this time 🙏🏻

There were dark mutterings about vigilantes a few months ago.

The homeless man that has moved into the village bus stop.

There’s a 50/50 blend of complaints and virtue signalling. Some people are unhappy that he’s using the graveyard as a loo and stopping anyone from using the bus stop, whereas others are emptying their cupboards and taking him tins of out of date soup (all photographed for social media of course). Someone even took him a roll out single sofa bed.

Other highlights include a newcomer to the (rural) village that has moved out of London and has asked if ‘someone’ could open a children’s farm on the local recreation ground because there was a great city farm near her old house in London. There’s also a lot of drama about the lollipop man’s lollipop top being nicked from its storage position in a bush near the school.

How does he heat the soup in a bus shelter? Must be very well equipped.

Maybe the buses are so infrequent that travellers need bus shelters like shepherds’ huts.

For months ours has been focussed on the lack of swings in the park. There are lots of other things to do but the swings were damaged and removed.

They then had to replace the whole frame so it’s obv taken a while. Won’t anyone think of the children?

And the lack of mowing of verges / weed killing on pavements etc. I didn’t think anyone could take this matter so personally.

Someone is walking around the village dressed in a great white shark outfit.As far as I know noone knows who it is yet

Not very interesting today usual moaning about aircraft noise.Have suggested they get flight radar app and see where the planes coming from 😊

The local take away has been closed for a month due to personal circumstances and they've announced its back open and loads of people saying how they've hardly been able to cope since it's been shut etc
Dogs!! Someone's dog keeps running loose down a certain road.
The local secondary school is a usual topic. A small minority of parents moaning on there about it.

There is a swan on the beach. Is it stuck? Does someone need to call someone?

@Hellocatshome the beach belongs to the swan now.

There is talk of calling the lifeboat if it goes in the water. I have suggested that swans can swim and also fly but no one is listening to me.
