A brilliant Rightmove listing

I live near this house and I have always wanted to see inside. Just wish it had a floor plan

It's also on a main road and not "in the heart of" anywhere

According to the blurb, it has a hand painted Muriel, maybe should be a mural? 🤣🤣🤣

RafaistheKingofClay · 28/09/2023 10:47

I’m happy to believe it’s an actual Muriel.

There is a certain "style" that certain nationalities prefer and this reflects it. Not far away was a restaurant which was similarly outlandish and which certain nationalities flocked to. TBH though that does look like a bit "odd" - all rooms looking very similar with bed, TV etc and the massive entertaining area downstairs. Perfect for parties. It is not secluded though as sits on a main road but plenty space for car parking. There's a big problem in that area with sex trafficking and prostitution.

Really ?

@catbla2957 I realise it's in a pricey part of the world but he's having a laugh at £3.2m!!!

Is it worth £3.2m from a square footage perspective for the area?

I am guessing the person who buys this will either love the decor or offer substantially less as they will have to gut and reconfigure the building.

I mean it's just hideous as it is at the moment

catbla2957 · 28/09/2023 11:31

I wouldn't say it was worth anything near 3.2 million. I doubt it's worth a tenth of that

Would be a great air bnb experience.

Cello60 · 28/09/2023 11:50

Clearly it’s Hogwarts and some of the bathrooms are Rooms of Requirement.

Britinme · 28/09/2023 11:53

I wonder how much it cost to transform that bungalow into that monstrosity.

Plankingplanks · 28/09/2023 12:06

Colourfulponderings · 27/09/2023 22:19

😂

And is that table salt by the bed?

Salt is good for getting blood stains out....

According to the local paper article posted by a PP earlier in the thread, it cost the guy £1m to transform the perfectly good former bungalow into the hideous eyesore that stands today.

DaisyMaisyFaisy · 28/09/2023 12:38

The bedrooms are so pokey!

So come on who’s going to go and view it for us! I would if I was closer

F0Xintherainbow · 28/09/2023 12:39

I actually went past it today twice 🤣

F0Xintherainbow · 28/09/2023 12:39

It is awful

DoorPath · 28/09/2023 12:41

The house is valued at £545k on Zoopla, albeit from prior to the renovation. £3.2 million is way, way off.

To be fair he has spent a million on it.

its not worth 3.5 though. The issue is it’s hideously tacky and in a very poor location. If you were going to spend 3.5 million in this region, you’d not buy that.

catbla2957 · 28/09/2023 15:10

It is indeed a pricey area but you can get an amazing home for that price

This is a sikh household. I know the style.

The Surrey Live article about the property states the owner is Polish and that is what he has based certain style aspects on eg the castle.

Crawleyite · 28/09/2023 16:25

It's in a crappy "New town" with no decent shops . Beaubush Castle my backside 😂

How much of that million went on additional square footage? That’s the only place he will have added value.

BeMoreBarbie · 28/09/2023 17:37

I'm no builder but picture 39 where the walls meet looks awfully built!

sueelleker · 28/09/2023 17:56

catbla2957 · 27/09/2023 21:42

Much better- cheaper and has a floor plan

Looks like a National Trust property!

Ellmau · 28/09/2023 19:48

When you posted @catbla2957you mentioned it has 8 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. Then@Luckydog7said 11 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms but when I look at the listing it now says 11 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms. Does it keep changing?? Why??

The main house has eight (tiny) bedrooms and the three 'annexes' are also classed as being or having bedrooms.

Don't know about the bathrooms, maybe they're doing the American thing and counting loos as bathrooms?

catbla2957 · 29/09/2023 19:21

Just been told there is a brilliant video about this place on tic tok. No idea how to search it

Agreed!! Although I have a lovely French bed (unpainted) in my little period cottage...Grin

The gold cornice is beyond dreadful - as is everything really!

The Bristol house is stunning. Wouldn't want the heating bills though.....

I liked the Bristol house and thought it looked a lot like Tyntesfield (NT house nearby) so wasn’t surprised to see in the particulars it was built for the son of Tyntesfield’s owner. If you’re ever passing J19/M5 (Gordano services), Tyntesfield is only a few miles from the junction and worth a visit.

I thought the same about the heating but reckon it would be cheaper to heat each person (heated slanket, heavy-duty Puffa jacket, boot warmers etc) than the house. 😂

Whatsinthefridge · 30/09/2023 21:50

Looks like it’s been used as a brothel 😆
