I live near this house and I have always wanted to see inside. Just wish it had a floor plan

www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/140487803

It's also on a main road and not "in the heart of" anywhere

It looks like the houses I used to build on The Sims when I was 10.

This made me laugh so much, thank you 😂

It’s leasehold… with a service charge of more than £16k a year! Odd.

I would imagine that’s for the communal garden which is stunning, but I wouldn’t want to share a garden for that price!

Festivfrenzy · 28/09/2023 07:21

Ew it's awful. Nothing more annoying on Rightmove than posting repeated photos too.

catwithflowers · 28/09/2023 07:22

Gosh, it's horribly vulgar 😳

Jellyfish7 · 28/09/2023 07:27

Having just been through the planning permission process myself, I don’t understand how something like this is ok, or maybe it was never approved!!?

It's just on the side of the road. Not many people to object

Oh yes!

Janieforever · 28/09/2023 07:55

Having also been through planning, although not Crawley but a neighbouring district , I am also very surprised that was approved.in fact a little pissed off. That he got to build that eye sore and I was made to jump through hoops for a small outbuilding.

altnough I guess as you say op no one really to object and I guess also there is no neighbourhood for it to be in keeping with.

RafaistheKingofClay · 28/09/2023 07:58

Apart from all the other things already mentioned, nothing says this house is really dark like having all the lights on in every photo. And there are a lot of lights.

What estate agent has time to edit in something like that? I'd wonder whether the other photos were doctored too.

millymog11 · 28/09/2023 08:18

I like the "accidental" selfie of the man in the bathroom mirror in one of the pictures.
Its so odd that for a property where the asking price is well in excess of £3 million, no only do the photos look like they have been taken by my 7 year old son, but the most basic stuff like how the beds have been made and whether the front approach has even had the grass mown (it hasn't!) has not been done. For that money you'd think you would pay someone even just a nominal fee to say clean the place etc for the pictures and advise to put all the lights on full beam etc to prevent the dark and dingy feel?

lizzy8230 · 28/09/2023 08:22

Is this a genuine listing? It's so awful I can't help feeling it's faked

Beargrumps22 · 28/09/2023 08:28

that first property looks like a swingers club mind you he looks a bit like a swingers club owner, may explain all the extra bathrooms and disco type lighting

Hibiscrubbed · 28/09/2023 08:31

The photos are astonishing in how bad they are.

I pass by the house regularly.

millymog11 · 28/09/2023 08:35

The Crawley one, looking at it again. As there are 15 bathrooms and 11 bedrooms and the decor looks like it has been sourced for a low end brothel, my guess is it has been done up for purposes very much other than normal residential use and income has been sweated out of it for a very long time with little to no maintenance going on.

MyJetNowAirlines · 28/09/2023 08:37

Even if there weren’t many people to object to the application, there are still guidelines to adhere to and building a Lego castle wouldn’t generally be ok. I’m amazed it got past planning too.

ssd · 28/09/2023 08:39

Thats hellish op

He only built it in the last few years

sweetgingercat · 28/09/2023 08:58

The worst photos and interiors I’ve ever seen…. It’s seriously lacking in taste.

Mochudubh · 28/09/2023 09:07

It's like a TARDIS had a horrible accident and ended up smaller on the inside.

Surely this is a candidate for https://terriblerealestateagentphotos.com/

How the Hell did it get planning permission?

Terrible real estate agent photographs

Inexplicably bad property photographs. It's that simple.

This is a sikh household. I know the style.

Odd commentHmm... particularly as the newspaper article says who the owner/builder is.

MaggieFS · 28/09/2023 09:11

I've got to run for a train so don't have time to look further, but somewhat unsurprisingly, it looks like there is an open retrospective planning application in for a two story house!

There is a certain "style" that certain nationalities prefer and this reflects it. Not far away was a restaurant which was similarly outlandish and which certain nationalities flocked to. TBH though that does look like a bit "odd" - all rooms looking very similar with bed, TV etc and the massive entertaining area downstairs. Perfect for parties. It is not secluded though as sits on a main road but plenty space for car parking. There's a big problem in that area with sex trafficking and prostitution.
