Any Bake Off fans feeling a little queasy...

as pp says, they happily have him on a family show one minute (not sure he was really appropriate for such a show given his history - I don’t think so) and then do a documentary about his behaviour lambasting him (rightly so) the next minute. So for two reasons against Russell brand and bake off/channel 4 are not on my watchlist right now.

Russel Brand has a lot of friends, what are you going to do? Boycott all their programmes, music, comedy etc

Yes I know what you mean. Besides the Brand link, I absolutely hated the Matt Lucas/Noel Fielding combo, didn't find them remotely funny, and they had zero interest in baking, obviously. I'd like to see perhaps someone like Alan Carr present it with Alison Hammond, there is a natural warmth about him that you don't get in a lot of other male comedians, many of whom are sociopaths if you ask me.

I just hope they have ditched those stupid, forced opening skits this series. They add absolutely nothing to the show and Paul and Prue clearly hate having to do them.

I'll watch it because I like to watch the baking. Noel Fielding is a little odd but he's relatively inoffensive. Alison Hammond is very loud but I'm sure I'll cope.

I think the Russell Brand link is rather tenuous. I'm not really interested in what he's been doing with who at this point nor am I gaily boycotting everything he may have a link to. I'd have to throw my telly out of the window.

Isn't there a difference between having a consensual (if morally dubious) relationship with a 16 year old, which is legal in this country, and the actual sexual assaults and rapes Russell Brand has been accused of? I wouldn't want to conflate the two.

On the odd occasion I've seen 'Bake off', the ridiculous gushing and histrionics from contestants and presenters have made me feel very queasy indeed.

The bakes make me feel a bit queasy. I don't think I'd like to eat something that has been so prodded around with to make a cake sculpture.

But the sex wasn't always consensual between RB and the 16yo. That is rape.

How do people not see that?

And I've just seen a video of him and Brand making a very unpleasant rape joke in Big Fat Quiz of the Year. And he says he was "friends" with Pixie Geldof. He was over 30-she was16......
