Song that you irrationally hate…

Mine is (I’ve Had) the Time of My Life, from ‘Dirty Dancing’.

It’s like nails on a chalk board and I can’t even explain why. It’s not even the worst song but it gives me rage and I always have to turn over the radio when it’s on.

Add to that any song by Anastacia, although these days she is rarely played on the radio.

I’m hoping that it’s not just me and suspect everyone has “that song” that they just cannot stand, for no rhyme nor reason. What is yours?

Pretty much anything by Mariah Carey. Whitney. Celine Dion and various other screechy women.

I struggle with listening to the radio.

Sweet Caroline. Now it's universally used for football and everyone sings the "dun dun dun" and it really grates on me!

Anything at all by Phil Collins/Genesis gives me the rage. I cannot listen to In The Air Tonight.

Driving Home For Christmas. And if that wasn't bad enough I also have to endure a Swedish version about driving home to Stockholm.

I have always hated dancing in the moonlight by top loader, moving too fast by I think Artful Dodger and Sing it Back by Moloko. All so, so annoying.

DH gets obsessed with songs and plays them on repeat and it makes me stabby. Then he finds a million billion covers of them and makes me even more insane.

Blimey, so many songs being mentioned that I really like lol! You wouldn't want to hear my play list! I can't stand Umbrella by Rihanna, I remember getting extreme rage when it was in the charts and getting played all the time, especially as it was the summer and rained for weeks, it drove me to book a trip to Ibiza for a week just to escape the weather and the song!

Anything by Oasis. Cannot stand them, and always skip them if they come on a "recommended" playlist.

I kept reading Sweet Caroline as the Status Quo song and wondering how it could evoke so much wrath, but of course, it's the omnipresent Neil Diamond one.

Albatross by Fleetwood Mac makes me feel genuinely nauseous.

"Do you ever feel like a plastic bag?" No I don't (I tell the radio every time) and I switch to another station. It just gives me the rage.

Uptown Girl - Westlife as it was released around the time of my first year of uni and my flatmate played it constantly
Queen of my heart - Westlife for the same reason as above
Chiribim Chiribom because it reminds me of my dad who I can barely remember
Any song by bloody Morrisey because ds listens to Morrisey constantly and his voice pisses me off

I really hate Morrisey and Westlife.

My husband is a massive Elliott Smith fan.

I cannot bear his voice (Elliott Smith's voice not my husband's!). It gives me a weird uncomfortable feeling like the insides of my ears are itching.

Oh dear -- I like quite a lot of these songs!

The song that really grates on me is a dance one. Not sure what it's called, but it just keeps on going 'tonight's gonna be a good night' I just want to smash whatever is playing it!
Also don't like anything by Celine Dion or Whitney Houston. And Phil Collins absolutely ruined Groovy Kind of Love

The list is long, but the one that’s making me switch radio stations at the moment is Heaven by Cian Ducrot. Can’t fucking stand it and it’s on Radio 2 at least once an hour or so it seems!
