BBC Presenter and yet more allegations

1000 replies

friendlycat · 11/07/2023 23:28

It would appear that the front page of tomorrow’s The Sun has further allegations about messages with a new 17 year old. Creepy hearts etc

Scrolling through Sky news and seeing front pages of the papers. This appears bottom right on The Sun front page.

4th!!!!

Bloody hell.

Janedoe82 · 11/07/2023 23:36

Has it been alluded to who it is yet??

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 11/07/2023 23:39

The sun will be seeking out and paying £££ to keep their crap story alive.

So fucking what he sent some emojis to someone. The first person doesn't want to proceed with anything, the second has said the presenter sent mean messages when he had hinted he would name the presenter online, the Third met up with him, the 4th received some emojis.

Fuck me. This is such a load of nonsense

Kiwiandstrawberries · 11/07/2023 23:39

Am absolutely shocked if it is who I think it is! My faith in humanity has been destroyed…he really was my hero and so lovely.

marshmallowfinder · 11/07/2023 23:40

Don't necessarily believe it. Many people can see the money and want to cash in on the action. It's easy to make up a whole load of shit.

Agree. Think the media/ social
media should the police investigate whether anything illegal happened. Because from these I can’t see anything and I have no say on anyone’s sex life

Quitelikeit · 11/07/2023 23:43

Is this person really so dumb and unintelligent to go around contacting young people online for sexual kicks?!

I think the Sun are trying too hard here tbh!

ForeverFriendsAndPierrot · 11/07/2023 23:43

I was believing this for a moment until I re-read that the SUN has spoken to a fourth girl

Here's me thinking it was the POLICE!!

So it's all 100%true? 🤔

Wishitsnows · 11/07/2023 23:44

Thing is that’s how people with excessive money get away with these things. They do what they want and then claim that the person wronged is just trying to get money out of them. It allows them to abuse freely.

Meadowfly · 11/07/2023 23:45

Yes, miss poldark, it sounds grim and tacky but not horrific. Went to the police - who said there was no crime, so went to the sun, because of course that’s how you protect your child 🤔

HerMammy · 11/07/2023 23:46

The Sun, how hypocritical, wasn't in the too distant past they had Sam
Fox topless on her 16th birthday or commenting on Charlotte Church being a 'big girl' at 15.

HighEndGrifters · 11/07/2023 23:50

He got a rise today, a pay rise that is.

Sweetashunni · 11/07/2023 23:50

I’m really tired of these witch hunts. It’s not even about ‘justice’ for whatever sleaze they’ve done, its about the media playing out a long whodunnit so the public can foam at the mouth and enjoy the chase, smearing a few innocent individuals along the way as they play armchair detective. Just tacky entertainment dressed up as ‘truth seeking’

They haven't been confirmed to be girls. And reports earlier in the reporting of the first case definitely the young person in question was male, but have since been changed to gender neutral language. They are almost certainly males.

MissPoldark · 11/07/2023 23:53

On the other hand you have to wonder why The Sun even want to keep the ridiculous story alive and I’m afraid certain people on threads such as this are to blame, salivating over the ongoing speculation about who it might be and seemingly unable to just wait for the outcome of the proper investigation.

twelly · 11/07/2023 23:56

I think the presenter has the right to anominity, we all have a right to privacy, we the public do not know the full facts, and I'm not sure whether I think we have a right to know the full details anyway.

BBC News verified that messages came from the presenter's phone to one of the people that has alleged they were in touch with him since the first allegations were made.

determinedtomakethiswork · 11/07/2023 23:57

The Sun want to keep this alive, because of the allegations against George Osborne, which were much much more serious, concerning him having sex with a 16-year-old girl who wasn't able to give consent. No, to George Osborne's complete relief, everyone is just talking about the presenter instead.

LakeTiticaca · 12/07/2023 00:05

This is insane. Why do these public figures do this, knowing full well its likely to come out and destroy their career and reputation. (If its actually true)

Exactly. This whole thing feels very off, they’re clutching at straws hoping their naive electorate are distracted by this rather than the shambolic government sleaze being swept under the rug. So far aside from being slightly creepy and having a penchant for younger people it’s nothing like Jimmy Saville 2.0 which is how this witch hunt is starting to look.

And their family. Can you imagine how his wife and children feel? I know NAMALT but what is wrong with (some) men? This is someone who people respected and he turned out to be sleazy and he's completely fucked up his life.

WhyWhyWhyMum · 12/07/2023 00:11

Or, could the publication date of this story to be detract from another Tory cronie as well as GO??
