Do shit TV adverts for money comparison sites. I don’t get it. She’s worth £45m. She’s a ‘national icon’. A dame! Why would you bother? It’s perplexes me

She’s taking a job from an unknown actor who would probably have done it for a couple of hundred quid.
If she is bored there’s 101 things she could do for charity.
Do people really buy insurance or whatever because someone famous is in the ad, without actually comparing prices/what you are getting?

If someone has the budget for Judi, and is asking for Judi, I can promise you, there was no job available for an unknown actor. Possibly a well known voice impressionist, but not an unknown... no.

Picking on the OP spelling her name incorrectly - as if you’re obliged to research someone before you ask an idle question about them on a forum!

Don’t these people realise that writing variations of “if you can’t spell her name correctly you shouldn’t have an opinion about her” just makes them look a bit…OTT?

Judi Dench and Michael Williams spent decades as jobbing actors with no security and not earning much when they were in work, while doing a lotof very worthy work.
It's probably not easy to resist the offer of work when you've spent a long time worried about money.

I love Judi Dench, she has always interested me as an actor, her voice is wonderful and she always looks fabulously dressed. Would like to have a good chat with her about life.
I wish someone would pay me loads for a tv advert, but I don’t have any appeal!

People who have a lot of money, tend to spend a lot of money. £45 million doesn't last long when you're used to spending a few million a year.

So she'll we wanting to top that up a bit when she can. But she's also in her 80s(?), She's probably not interested in working constantly any more, so trading on her name and making a couple of hundred thousand for a few days work is probably right up her street.

Because she can. She got told she would never do films as she was not 'attractive enough' - she was primarily a theatre actress with a couple of TV roles. Her first major film was as M in James Bond in 1995 (she was nearly 60). she has strongly criticised the film industry for been ageist and telling people what they can and cannot do.
