It's not really a new thing. Kevin Bacon advertises EE. Snoop Dogg and Katy Perry do those bloody awful Just Eat adverts. George Clooney did a coffee ad! None of those people are short of a bob or two.

Apparently it was the clover spread advert she did with her husband that paid for her Surrey home!!

A cording to this, the director of the ad is the same one who did Shakespeare in Love- she won her Oscar for that film (for 8 minutes on screen!)

Perhaps another reason to work again with the same director, fond memories? And he’s clearly a master at making her look good in a short bit of film!

Maybe she was picked first and insisted on him to direct actually.

I think I remember when Neil Morrissy did adverts for a DIY store (was it Homebase?) and he was on the radio and the host asked why he did them and he said in the industry they were known as ‘bank raids’ as it’s basically a smash and grab of lots of lots of money for very little work.
