Can anyone going over the next week or so please give any tips specifically about best (quietest) toilets, good viewpoints (ideally staying seated until the main act!) and anything else that might help others!

Not been to an outdoor concert in years and off to see Bruce Springsteen! But comfort is my main priority 🤣

Drumbalina · 24/06/2023 21:57

get two lightweight camping chairs its a long day and sitting on the floor gets quite hard to do, food and drinks there are extortionate the gates open at 3pm so have a hearty lunch before you go in so you wont have to buy much more than a sandwich inside, i wouldnt worry too much about viewpoints as they put huge tellys in stragecic places cant remember where the toilets were but the queue wernt to bad anyway, we are going to see gunsnroses on friday

You can’t bring chairs in.

Kendodd · 24/06/2023 22:06

Going next Sunday, never been before, no idea what to expect.
Can someone please explain what it's like?

Pancake678 · 24/06/2023 22:08

From my previous experience at HP the toilets are always in good condition and rarely a queue.

They don't advertise everything you can take into the ground u til
You get there and they take loads of stuff from you.

We generally have a walk around get some food/drink and look at the various stands. Then sit down until the main act is on.

Currently on crutches 😞

Matildahoney · 24/06/2023 22:40

@namechangedyetagain contact their accessible help team, they may be able to get you in there. I'm concerned as I'm pregnant, so torn as to what to do!

Drumbalina · 25/06/2023 06:27

We bought some little waterproof sheets from Amazon to sit on on the ground.

also note you can only bring an a4 size bag in, they will not let you enter with anything else.

you can bring an empty water bottle, but no food or drink

tapdancingmum · 25/06/2023 08:49

I was there yesterday for P!nk and had the most amazing time. It was my first time there but was with a friend who is a veteran 😀. We took picnic blankets and had early entry, so go quite a good spot and set them down. We left them until just before she came on, which meant we had our 'spot', so to speak.

I know it says no chairs, but we saw a couple of people with those foldable fishing chairs, and another person had what looked like a blow-up seat.

The toilets were really good, lots of them and what I would class as proper toilets in a really clean cubicle. None of those port-a-loo type things with blue water. Really decent hand washing facilities and proper air blowers instead of towels to dry your hands.

If you have an Amex card, take it with you as you get 5% off purchases and free water bottles (like the chillies bottles).

Food was really nice with plenty to choose from, and cans of coke were £2.80 each.

It took us an hour to get out of the park and to Oxford Street tube via a quick pit stop at McDonalds for a cuppa 😀. The concert finished at 10.25 and I walked through my door at 1.00 am.

I am doing it all again for Billy Joel on 9/7 😀

tapdancingmum

thanks so much for that! So glad the toilets were good! Do you happen to know how much a glass of wine or pint was?!

I didn't look at those as I don't drink. Sorry x

Some people take a blanket or equiv to sit on, most people just sit on the grass. It starts to get very busy and crowded by the act before the headline. It's all very chilled , lovely atmosphere usually. Marble Arch station is closed at the end of the night, so figure out which would be the next best if going by tube.
Yes to contacting the accessibility people for the pp on crutches - they are usually very helpful.

Isseywith3witchycats · 25/06/2023 12:07

weve booked parking under hyde park which was £48 for 24 hours and have to pay the low emission are charge of £13 do not to bad

LlynTegid · 25/06/2023 12:47

Walk to and from Marble Arch or Green Park station not Hyde Park Corner.

WizardinTraining · 25/06/2023 12:50

Thanks for this, so helpful. Excited for GnR on Friday 😊

Branleuse · 25/06/2023 12:53

Take a blanket for the ground and extra money because drinks are expensive.
Unless you got the super luxury tickets then dont worry about being at the front. Better views could well be further back. Toilets are fine.

Dumbphone · 25/06/2023 13:09

I go numerous times every year and sit outside for a free concert, there are some areas you can see the screens and of course you can hear everything from most spots. Pink last night was great, and the atmosphere outside is so much fun.

when I went last year with a paid ticket for Elton John I found it alright, toilets great, drinks not too pricy, but queues for drinks and food so long.

MMAMPWGHAP · 25/06/2023 13:21

Have worked the gates at BST.
Toilets v good.
Wear or get partner to wear shorts with lots of pockets. You’ll probably manage to get some energy bars in that way. It’s a long day.
Absolutely no chairs.
Depending on weather take a plastic poncho (Amazon).
Take empty water bottle.
Say thanks to the ticket scanners, they are volunteers.
Know the words to Mary’s Place, Wrecking Ball & The Rising. They take on a new life in the live show.
