Can anyone going over the next week or so please give any tips specifically about best (quietest) toilets, good viewpoints (ideally staying seated until the main act!) and anything else that might help others!

Not been to an outdoor concert in years and off to see Bruce Springsteen! But comfort is my main priority 🤣

Sorry if I sound like an idiot so I’m at Gold Circle, what time do I get there, what is there to do while you’re hanging around, I’m not bothered by being near the front

CatticusFinch · 02/07/2023 12:13

We got there at 4:15 yesterday and got a decent spot in the Gold Circle but we weren't bothered about being really close. People who wanted to be at the barrier were queueing from the morning.

RufustheSpecuIatingreindeer · 02/07/2023 13:07

theos from what i say there were people at the back of the gold with a bit of space around them so you might be able to go there just before they start

I went for guns and roses and take that. Guns and roses was a relaxed affair, you could go and get food/ drinks and go to loo in between

Take that - if you left your spot I wasn't sure if you would find it again. Nearer the time they started everyone moved forward. To be honest unless you are right at the front you could be anywhere. The sound wasn't as good with take that as it was with guns and roses but the atmosphere was electric.

I was appalled at the amount of rubbish left behind . A stark contrast to our experience when we visited Japan this Easter

Theos · 02/07/2023 17:15

So if I got there at three for example, you literally just stand in the spot for four hours? This sounds dull

Theos · 02/07/2023 17:16

All the other times I’ve been to see Billy, it’s been at Wembley or somewhere like that with seats

We saw him at Wembley a few years ago, and Earls Court mid 90s when Elton came in with him. I've always wondered about getting your place, surely a lot of Billy Joel fans are going to need toilet trips before he comes on....

No there are bands in through out the day, see the line up, and you bring a blanket or something to sit on, you can also wander round and see /partake in the attractions, get food and drink etc. why would you think you need to stand on the spot there for 4 hours?

Lol. I dunno. I’ve just read all the stress about toilets

Theos · 02/07/2023 17:51

Hopefully won’t need any mat as forecast is scorching

chopc · 02/07/2023 21:05

With guns and roses it wasn't that crowded and you could move around freely and get food etc but at the take that everyone was squashed together and it was jam packed so I don't think toilet breaks etc was possible.

However until then you can sit on your picnic mat etc

thedogdiditagain · 02/07/2023 21:12

So can I just check - you can bring in your small A4 size bag as well as a picnic blanket?

buzzing · 02/07/2023 21:13

How thoroughly do they check bags, side zips etc? My mum wants to take cutlery as she doesn’t like wooden forks 🤦🏽‍♀️ am trying to persuade her otherwise!

bastedyoungturkey · 02/07/2023 21:14

Can definitely take a blanket as well as a bag. At take that yesterday they didn't seem to be being too strict. I'd read that you couldn't take cool bags etc in but I did see people with them.

Jandsy1 · 02/07/2023 22:13

Hi where is the best spot to sit outside?

We had to walk through a metal scanner thingy so cutlery would definitely be picked up

Theos · 03/07/2023 09:10

Lol at your mum though. Arrested for possessing a bladed article. “In the dock the defendant said it was for eating salad “

Rascalsandradishes · 03/07/2023 09:51

I'll be there in Hyde park on Thursday for Bruce and staying in London on Friday night as well. Thinking of going to sit in Hyde park to hear Billy Joel or somewhere in the surrounding area - has anyone got any tips on a good spot to be able to hear the concert without getting stuck in the crowds?

I know, she's hilarious ... she once got a boiled egg confiscated going in to a Take That concert 😂

I have a feeling if I tell her about the metal detectors she'll bring a plastic spork instead... she has a healthy disregard for the rules!

But are people really taking cool bags in? Cause if I make her stick to one small bag and then she sees other people rolling out the picnics she's not going to be happy!

MMAMPWGHAP · 03/07/2023 12:33

If I didn’t have a ticket I’d make a ‘spare ticket please’ sign and sit outside west gate. There is always someone whose friend hasn’t come. You might get lucky. Can hear well from there too. There were plenty of spares for Take That.

Bluebells1970 · 03/07/2023 20:42

What's the best exit to take to get out early? We're driving back to Gloucestershire and wanted to try and get out before the end to beat the traffic as it's a 2.5 hour drive...

bastedyoungturkey · 03/07/2023 20:42

Chaos in all directions from what I could make out.

bunnypenny · 03/07/2023 20:46

pls can someone who has tickets for Bruce check something for me? I don’t have the option to transfer tickets on the app - does anyone else? When you go into your events on either AXS or Ticketmaster, it should say transfer or sell next to the tickets. I have tickets for Saturday I need to transfer but there’s not the option (but there is for Billy on Friday!)

Rascalsandradishes · 03/07/2023 20:51

Mine only says sell- should it say transfer as well?

Bluebells1970 · 03/07/2023 20:51

Yeah, mine shows with the sell or transfer options, that's through the AXS app.
