BST Hyde Park show tips

Can anyone going over the next week or so please give any tips specifically about best (quietest) toilets, good viewpoints (ideally staying seated until the main act!) and anything else that might help others!

Not been to an outdoor concert in years and off to see Bruce Springsteen! But comfort is my main priority 🤣

Look at the map of the park and go at whatever it is near the stage. Some friends of mine went to the VIP thing and it was set slightly to the right of the stage as you look at it and to be honest, they were quite far away

wouldn’t upgrade for toilets they were no problem at all

Anyone been this past week that has any feedback? I’m trying to remember what the food was like last year as I’ll have 2 fussy kids to feed this time round.

Theos · 07/07/2024 15:53

Oh, they had just fish and chips and burgers and stuff.

Everyone said before I went how great the food was. The food was average.

We were there yesterday, there was loads of food choices. Fried chicken, pizza, fish and chips, Greek wraps.

I was there Wednesday, and found there was lots of food choices but in my opinion the quality wasn’t great. We didn’t even eat our food. I would take some bits with you, they didn’t check our bags very well. When I’ve done things with my girls before I’ve taken hot dogs in a flask, if you lay that at the bottom of your bag with something on top they probably won’t even notice.

clare8allthepies · 07/07/2024 20:02

Thanks for the replies, it sounds like there will definitely be something I can get them to see them through. We’re all taking tiny bags so don’t think we’ll take any food in but will pack some snacks in our case to have back at the hotel afterwards.

Hot dogs in a flask 🤮

Anyone got any tips on what time to arrive? We’ve got Diamond Tickets (a corporate pressie my boss didn’t want and I won the work lottery) but not sure I want to spend the entire day there. I’m going for Stevie Nicks and haven’t a clue who the support acts are. Can I go in at about 5pm ish? Thanks

Theos · 10/07/2024 21:41

From what I remember, Diamond tickets are to the right of this stage a little bit away and have seats and stuff so it probably doesn’t matter what time you get there. It’s the gold tickets at the front where you have to be there during the support act probably about 6 o’clock and not go to the loo for a bit.

Sorry to jump on an old post .

BST has a curfew of 22:30 for this summer -Is it relastic to be able to get to London Victoria coach station for 23:30 - Google says it's a 30 min walk

Assignedtoworryyourmother · 02/01/2025 13:04

Unlikely - can take ages to get out, so unless you leave before the end, I wouldn't risk it.

Namechangeforanamechange · 02/01/2025 13:33

No. DS and his DGF took an hour and a half to get out of the park after the Rolling Stones. It takes ages to get out of the arena and then across the park. The stewards sometimes send you on a circuitous route across the park to stop overcrowding at the exits.

You could try moving towards the arena exit before the end to avoid the queue to get out, if that is the last coach. I have fond memories of dancing to Bonkers with the DC in the middle of the empty food stall area during the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony concert as we headed to the exit to watch the last few songs 😂

Totally agree leave before the end and you’ll be fine

YourProudLurker · 02/01/2025 18:48

Thanks everyone! Yeah last bus is 23:30 if we missed that we are screwed !!

Do have a hotel in paddington reserved so guess that's our best option (expensive)

Namechangeforanamechange · 02/01/2025 19:26

I have sent a few victims of air bnb scammers here, @YourProudLurker. They were very helpful, even when they didn’t have a room. It appears to have changed hands though. It is very cheap for London!
