BST Hyde Park show tips

Can anyone going over the next week or so please give any tips specifically about best (quietest) toilets, good viewpoints (ideally staying seated until the main act!) and anything else that might help others!

Not been to an outdoor concert in years and off to see Bruce Springsteen! But comfort is my main priority 🤣

2.5 hours to Gloucestershire?!

bunnypenny · 03/07/2023 21:11

Thanks! This is really frustrating, no option to transfer - I wonder if it’s because it’s parent/guardian tickets I have through AXS?

tickets arent even available yet through Ticketmaster.

Daisiesandprimroses · 03/07/2023 21:38

Mine on axs says transfer, so it must be due to the parent guardian thing,

at the gate I was working at they were super strict with the A4 size bag rule. Lots of backpacks ended up in the bin

I thought this.. I went on a BS group on FB. Tickets are available through the BST Hyde Park App....

MurielThrockmorton · 04/07/2023 06:22

My Billy Joel tickets aren't available yet on Ticketmaster, I've just got a thing saying they're not a ticket and I'll be emailed when the tickets are available. Now I'm a bit worried if other people I've got them!

Theos · 04/07/2023 06:46

I’ve got mine.

Zoologydragon · 04/07/2023 07:15

We were at guns on Friday - you can transfer tickets on the BST app and you need the app to access your tickets anyway.

Thanks! I have the BST, AXS and Ticketmaster apps! No option to transfer on any of them (and no tickets yet on Ticketmaster). How frustrating.

if anyone knows the best way to contact AXS, pls let me know!!

Your tickets are on BST app, Ticketmaster might have been your purchase agent but it's all linked to BST.

I was at Pink the week before - option to transfer was there and it’s also there for my Billy tickets, but not for Bruce for either Thursday or Saturday (I’m hoping to sell my Saturday tickets but if I can’t transfer i don’t know if that’s possible)

MurielThrockmorton · 04/07/2023 07:30

@LadyGAgain Oh yes, so they are. I'd already seen them and must have forgotten. I think I got confused because of the message on Ticketmaster. I've bought quite a few things recently. Thanks! Grin

Bb v Teenagers going on their own to LDR on Sunday. Kind of pleased as its my idea of hell (get dizzy standing, knees are fucked). They have Gold VIP tickets.

what's the best way back to Paddington?

PatriciaHolm · 05/07/2023 21:40

@LanaDelReyGigChauffer Walking! They will come out the bottom end from the VIP bit, they should then walk north through hyde park, should take about half an hour under normal circs so maybe allow an hour....

peachescariad · 06/07/2023 10:51

I don't know what's best to wear this Saturday - was thinking shorts, but mine are short shorts or I've got knee length denim ones which might be too hot.

What's the general dress vibe from those of you who've been there during the day?

We are also going sat and I keep checking the forecast. We have been before, a few years back to see Phil Collins, what we did was travelled in in jeans and trainers, and brought shorts and flip flops in our bags, we wore vests under our long sleeve tops, we just nipped to the loo and changed into shorts and flip flops when it was warm enough, removed our long sleeve tops, and then changed back in the early evening as it starts to get chilly again , so in this instance before Springsteen comes on at 7 we will change back.

the vibe then was loads of folks doing the same basically. Shorts vests flip flops and then changed for when it got cooler.

the only difference thus time will be if the ground is wet it could be muddy,

AChildMyself · 06/07/2023 13:56

How did you get on with parking under Hyde Park? We’ve booked that too but it mentions they don’t reserve you a space, so I’m worried that we’ll get there and the car park will already be full and we’ll end up having nowhere to park

Namechangeforanamechange · 06/07/2023 15:01

@AChildMyself I don't know about that car park but there are other carparks nearby where you can reserve a space and are less busy eg https://expresscarparks.mystrikingly.com There is also free on street parking on Sundays. Just be aware that you are on the edge of the congestion zone so don't get caught out by crossing into it accidentally.

@LanaDelReyGigChauffer the easiest way to Paddington is to leave the park on the north side by Marble Arch (there are signposts and stewards in the park), walk north along Edgware Road, then turn left onto Praed Street at the Hilton Hotel.

It's slightly quicker to cut through the back streets of the Hyde Park Estate. There will be stewards in the streets near the park directing people plus there are pedestrian signposts, some with maps, in Central London but the Edgware Road route is along busy main/shopping roads and easy to remember, no chance of getting lost!

Don't do the tourist thing of standing staring at google maps on your phone, you might get your phone snatched.

It's just under a mile, so about 15 mins walk once you are out of the park... it could take an hour to get out of the arena though.

Tomorriw gonna be Scorchio. Remember whether is always hotter in London because city

Bluebells1970 · 07/07/2023 09:31

We went last night - very well organised, toilets and water both very accessible and without too much queueing. Food stands were amazing, all cooked to order rather than pre prepped and lots of choice. Entry was smooth too and didn't take long given the amount of people going in.

My only negative was the atmosphere - it felt like more of a food and drink festival rather than a concert at times?? and I'm not sure how many were Springsteen fans given how many were paying attention. We had to move half a dozen times due to loud (and very drunk) groups around us. I wouldn't book again there, I much prefer stadium events.

Bluebells1970 · 07/07/2023 09:33

Forgot to add, we parked in Queensway (QPark) - was about 25 minutes walk across Hyde Park but no traffic around that area at all and we got out really easily.

AChildMyself · 07/07/2023 14:42

For those worried about standing, we came in with a wheelchair and it was fine. Admittedly we do have a disabled badge if they needed to see it but no one actually checked it, it stayed in our bag, so they didn’t even know we had one. One member of staff said ‘I don’t think chairs are allowed’ and the manager panicked and was like ‘no no of course wheelchairs are fine, through you go’ so they didn’t seem bothered at all.

AChildMyself · 07/07/2023 14:45

Sorry forgot to add, it’s boiling today and we’ve brought an umbrella, just a small handheld one, and got in fine with it. Lots of people have the little water bottle sized umbrellas (big golf ones are a no go though)

Daisiesandprimroses · 08/07/2023 07:38

Hi does anyone know is it strict one a4 bag or can I also bring in a small cross body hand bag? Thanks

Theos · 08/07/2023 09:04

Gold circle was great. Do not leave before supporting act. You won’t get back near the front.

TWATS with picnic blankets during the support act right at the front got short shrift. Fuxake was ludicrous.

water given out from front of stage. Even at very front the stage is far off - BJ commented on it. The food and drink is ok. Wouldn’t go wild on it. Shade minimal once in gold circle.
