Jack Monroe in court today for CCJ stuff?

Don't know if anyone's been following this but Jack Monroe was supposed to be in court today, don't know the latest?

She hasn't fulfilled patreon rewards for years, taken the money though.
Has asked for donation to her private PayPal for presenter triangle, book donations, website repairing and for a libel case that she never filed.

Court was meant to be at 2pm?

I can't help but think that if someone took Nigella, Jamie etc to court for not sending stuff they were supposed too, more media would be interested? Wonder how Jack avoids scrutiny?

And why not?

If she is effectively defrauding people, why not bring her down?

Or do you think that some people deserve to get away with conning many people out of comparatively small sums? - sums which add up to many, many thousands over time.

Do you think that this is an acceptable form of theft? If so, where is the line between what is OK and what isn't?

"Doorstepped by the media" probably means that the local paper boy has shouted "Hiya, missus!" as he's ridden past her home.

The way I look at it - anyone who has given her money has :

a) money to burn!
b) if broke themselves, then probably very naive
c) wanted to take her to court as they knew it would be rubbish returns.

a) and b) of course most likely. Maybe an otherwise gullible b) person suddenly took the hump at being taken advantage of?

She's trying to reinvent herself on Twitter by deleting her old tweets and a change of name. Her Patreon is still open. She says she can't access it but given the amount of lies told in the past I take this with a very large pinch of salt.

It’s actually still going, the guy involved tweeted recently. She had issued more tweets saying she’s had to hire bodyguards.

Is she receiving the Patreon money?

Of course she is. She’s trying to distance herself from it because she doesn’t send out any of the rewards. It seems her plan is to try and make people forget they send money to it so it keeps going.
She changes her Twitter header regularly but keeps a link to a patreon she doesn’t receive the money from? Sure… she’s been back tweeting regularly but doesn’t tell people to cancel/pause their payments or contact patreon?
nothing adds up because it never does.

I think her cheerleaders are at this point absolutely committed to defending her because otherwise they have to admit they've been hussled and it's like those romance scams and the rich relative in Africa died bullshit - people fall for it and then don't want to believe they got scammed.

It's why they often get so angry about it

Old thread but no harm in publicising the grifter again. She gets off on scamming people and she's told so many lies she probably doesn't remember the truth. She's basically a middle class grammar school gel who threw together some (shit!) recipes and wants us all to believe different

When she told people she was boiling down soap to make shower gel (instead of just using the soap to wash??) and had removed her lightbulbs in her home, she was raking in a very large monthly amount from her Patreon.

Old thread I know, but I have to reply to this:

A famous person had an affair with someone whose name is very similar to mine (think Sue Jones and my name would be Suzanne Jones). Reporters from the DM, Mirror and others bombarded my social media and phone number with messages. I eventually had to send photos to prove I wasn't her to get them to leave me alone.

But one persistent reporter clearly didn't believe me, so they tracked down my address and turned up at my flat door! I almost wished I was her, it was all so dramatic and crazy. 😂

I doubt it happened to Jack but they definitely DO still doorstep.

Of course she did. . . . 🙄

(We all know that she has an entire burly rugby team to call on for protection if necessary and they offer their muscular protection services fry just to thank her for all she does . . . )
