Jack Monroe in court today for CCJ stuff?

Don't know if anyone's been following this but Jack Monroe was supposed to be in court today, don't know the latest?

She hasn't fulfilled patreon rewards for years, taken the money though.
Has asked for donation to her private PayPal for presenter triangle, book donations, website repairing and for a libel case that she never filed.

Court was meant to be at 2pm?

I can't help but think that if someone took Nigella, Jamie etc to court for not sending stuff they were supposed too, more media would be interested? Wonder how Jack avoids scrutiny?

What's LegalGengar referring to in their most recent post? It sounds like they were planning to sue JM for something reputational, as well as pursuing the CCJ costs?

He wanted £5k for defamation due to Doxxing, a public apology and a £1k donation from Jack to a foodbank.

Some said that the £5k was too much, so he decided against it.

I did see he sent bank details to her yesterday, but so far no payment received apparently.

I have no idea...

But, where Jack is concerned there seems to be very very obsessive people on both he pro jack and the anti Jack sides.

Theres people that screenshot every word she tweets within seconds of her tweeting. There's people that defend her no matter the evidence.

I can't totally imagine that with those types of obsessives that his employer got contacted, that they found him online and harassed him etc.

I wouldn't want my real name and my occupation tweeted to 550k obsessive flying monkeys.

No it's not defamatory but her supporters have tried to get people who have criticised her before into trouble at their work.

Her fans are obsessive

I’ve been following LegalGengar’s tweets and they were reasonably confident that she would pay and issue an apology - although I’m not sure how the apology would be published as her tweets are currently ‘protected’ and I’m blocked anyway.

if she hasn’t paid, not only has she lied to LG, presumably she’s also made a mockery of the court system by letting it go down to the wire and halting proceedings late in the day by agreeing to settle, and then not honouring her side of the agreement? I’m not 100% sure how it works, but I guess the whole legal action process now has to reset and start again?

I doubt she will willingly pay up. Tbh I think she is very mentally unwell. Doesn't mean she cannot be held to account but it has to be kept in mind.

There'll be some sort of drama as to why she hasn't paid yet.

Some sort of crisis she is going through that actually the head if MI5 and NHS and Interpol are actually supporting her with.

I do wonder if the fact that she’s stated that she will pay back the money is a tacit (and possibly legally binding) acknowledgment of the debt and could therefore be used against her if she reneges on repayment?

I believe this is a separate issue. The CCJ may be settled (or whatever the legal term is) but that is nothing to do with conduct within the court.

(Although I am not a "lawyer", or maybe I am given it's a non privileged term here in England)

He's given it to a food bank, I believe.

JM didn't show up to the hearing which is contempt of court. As far as I know she will have a hearing about the contempt even though she had paid the amount owing.

Would they bother for a ccj case. Plus remember she said she'd contacted the court and they told her not to come. (which is obviously bollocks).
