Jack Monroe in court today for CCJ stuff?

Don't know if anyone's been following this but Jack Monroe was supposed to be in court today, don't know the latest?

She hasn't fulfilled patreon rewards for years, taken the money though.
Has asked for donation to her private PayPal for presenter triangle, book donations, website repairing and for a libel case that she never filed.

Court was meant to be at 2pm?

I can't help but think that if someone took Nigella, Jamie etc to court for not sending stuff they were supposed too, more media would be interested? Wonder how Jack avoids scrutiny?

The thing is everyone says she does so much good, but what does she actually do that’s good? She’s supported a couple of campaigns and given evidence in Parliament a couple of times. And… anything else in 10 years? Her recipes are mostly useless and that consumer index thing everyone thinks she made doesn’t exist.

She doesn't do anything, let’s be real. She plays make-believe on the internet and actively courts controversy (by the immense about of personal info she puts out there) and when anyone says ‘hang on a minute, what does she actually do?’ she says they’re harassing her and are responsible for her poor mental health.

Sorry to labour a point, but isn’t the pity and self pity angle part of the zeitgeist?

We have Markle and her English prince broadcasting and monetising this on Oprah. Possibly two of the most privileged people in the world, but feeling hard-done-by. Fact is being human is not usually an easy ride … And … there the old saying, the squeaky wheel gets the oil!

Someone has asked for their court case money back (because she didn’t sue them) and she’s accused them of ‘taking the food out of peoples mouths.’ She’s a horrible manipulator.

This is Jack in a nutshell and yet over 400 people a month give her money via Patreon. Even if they all give the lowest £3.50 it's a tidy amount for doing the sum total of fuck all

And Patreon should absolutely have a procedure for dealing with scammers but instead throw it back to the subscriber and wash their hands of it all.

That is an incredibly disturbing thing to say, a complete straw man argument and a total deflection from the wrong she has done in the way she’s gone about this shitshow donation nonsense. The person who she sent that to should hold strong and say ‘yeah I’m ok with that. Do it’. They won’t though, and I don’t blame them.

Saying ‘it’s for charity’ to avoid any blame or responsibility for wrong doing is a very dangerous path to go down indeed. Jack monroe could not make it any more plain the amount of contempt she holds for the people who fund her massively spendy life. What a complete and utter cunt. Hope she’s reading this.

Oh wait, no doubt she hasn't got the time to do that as she's too busy doing hard work and can't be proving herself all the time...

And I'll bet there was nothing in the fund raiser to say it would otherwise be used...

It's not that it's one month or one tenner though she's creaming money off gullible people constantly that can't afford to pay her in a lot of cases by making up a load of old shit and bollocks.

Absolutely no idea why she is carrying on at this stage or why don't just do the bare minimum she promised people

When she first moved, that website had a price of £10k - £15k per speech.

People spotted it, mentioned it, the website changed to POA.

£15k to listen to someone who says they were in poverty 10 years ago, still say they are in poverty. Bargain

I get so, so infuriated when the 'mental illness' explanation is wheeled out for any kind of poor behaviour. It's so insulting to people with genuine mental health issues.

I, and a large chunk of my immediate family have mental health issues. I don't think any of us would ever invoke 'because mental health' to explain our wrongs - thinking of the person who is worst afflicted, she spends her life trying to apologise and make amends for what really amounts to 'being a bit off and a bit down' now and again. She lives her life feeling genuinely bad for things she can't help rather than wheeling out the ol' mental health line at opportune moments.

Personally, I think that, and the suicide breadcrumbing, is the worst thing. It's really grim.

She hasn't said where she donated the crowdfund money. She's just said it was donated. Am certain any charities would be openly saying thank you as it raises their profile. Reality is that she has used it for....other means.

In her interview with that Shattenstone guy she openly said she drank too much and spent Patreon money on furniture. Oakland at that....not cheap.

I am sure some of it did go on furniture, I also suspect much of it went up her nose. It's no secret she was using ❄️ back in the day. Likely she still is and it's messed with her head.

I don't wish her any harm, she just needs to stop lying and close that Patreon account.

When she says Fundraiser X will go towards Project Y or Charity Z if Project Y doesn't go through - she must, naturally, only use that money for the purposes it was given and PROVE it when asked. However, he can spend her monthly Patreon money on what she wants - as long as she's meeting the Patreon promises (Which I know she isn't, but let's pretend she is) she can spend the money on whatever she likes - just like you can spend your money on whatever you like?

She absolutely can spend her money on whatever she likes. But pleading poverty when she's raking in cash is dodgy as anything. As is pretending you're going to sue someone when you have no intention of doing so.

And until /unless she provides proof that every single penny that hit her PayPal for the whole year from the point she said she was going to sue has gone to a charity, I can't see why anyone would believe she's donated any of it.
