Jack Monroe in court today for CCJ stuff?

Don't know if anyone's been following this but Jack Monroe was supposed to be in court today, don't know the latest?

She hasn't fulfilled patreon rewards for years, taken the money though.
Has asked for donation to her private PayPal for presenter triangle, book donations, website repairing and for a libel case that she never filed.

Court was meant to be at 2pm?

I can't help but think that if someone took Nigella, Jamie etc to court for not sending stuff they were supposed too, more media would be interested? Wonder how Jack avoids scrutiny?

I've seen her make endless claims about things, but never any proof she really does anything more than an average person who might volunteer or promote a local charity etc.

In fact if you look across Twitter or even Google there’s almost nothing from Jack Monroe that isn’t self promotion or personal over-sharing.
nothing shared on local or National initiatives or recognising the breadth of campaigning and sheer hard work that is being done by volunteers or paid staff (in frontline role wages, not media/broadcasting) every hour of every day.
think about the Full Time meals initiative led by Marcus Rashford and Tom Kerridge. Absolutely no promotion or acknowledgement at all despite apparently being in the same circles.

Spot on @Mumberjack She has the perfect platform to raise awareness of charitable causes yet doesn’t.

Raising money for a court case that was never going to happen, keeping the amount raised a secret (and using her personal PayPal rather than a crowd funding site) and then saying she's donated it also secretly and won't provide the proof or the amount or the charity is quite... wild, shall we say.

She really is utterly shameless. I don't know what is wrong with her followers - they just seem to be utterly convinced that 'she does good', despite zero evidence of that.

I hope the fraud office investigate her. She solicited donations for one thing and did something else with the money.

And she doxxed the Claimant. She Tweeted his full name and address, so obviously her flying monkeys utterly harangued the poor bastard.

He reported it to the Met Police with plenty of hard evidence (he's legally trained, so he's not a buffoon) and they said they couldn't do anything, cos they needed more evidence. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm convinced that she lives in her own head most of the time and role plays little scenarios.

Then, in her mind, it all happened and it's all true.

I wouldn't be surprised if Trussell Trust sued her (which could explain the press). If she's publicly saying she's donating shedloads of cash to them, and they're not receiving it, then surely that is some sort of deception / fraud.

I wonder if they are massively cutting ties with her and readying to launch some legal action.

I've never been a fan. She loves to play the victim. It wasn't her fault that she had a baby and had absolutely no choice other than to quit her job because they couldn't accommodate her request for shift changes. Apparently she worked a night shift prior to having a baby. Of course, any responsible person would consider the stability of their relationship before deciding to have a baby and would change jobs to ensure that it was family friendly or search for another job. And I found it hard to believe that the public organisation she worked for couldn't accommodate her at all as the public sector is extremely generous in its employment terms. Nothing is ever her fault. It's the fault of the govt, who stepped in and dug her out of a hole when she gave up her job!

What do you suggest then? I agree some posts on Twitter are harsh but do you think she should be able to continue taking money and not providing what she said she would, or doing what she said she would with the money, without people questioning her? Genuine question.

I have a lot more sympathy for the people she's conned than her with her MH issues. She's cried old once too often

We've only got jack's claims as evidence for any mental health issues.

She also claimed rheumatoid arthritis so bad she needed a walking stick, it went away.

Or, let's put it this way, if someone emptied your families bank accounts, you knew who it was, but they had depression and accusing them of doing what they did makes them cry and cry..

There are “gullible liberals” everywhere. Full of guilt and mistaking self-pity for compassion. If such people want to keep JM in fancy watches, more fool them. There are lots of legitimate charities that do stuff, no need to give it to individuals.

There are exceptions - impoverished artists, poets, perhaps. Or people with a serious track record. But the random, self-appointed or media-appointed poverty tsar thing was never going to work. For starters you are in the difficult position of once you climb out of poverty, you have to hide the fact!

She still seems to have a lot of loyal supporters. Who say she's done 'so much good'. But what exactly HAS she done?
