Have we got one yet?

Yea I know it’s the first proper hot day, but I’m already suffering. I have a splitting headache that painkillers won’t touch. Always happens when it’s hot.

I get heat exhaustion really easily

I like summer but I do struggle with the heat when it gets above 20°. I'm a big sweaty mess at the minute.

I normally like it hot despite being a fat, sweaty ginger, but unfortunately for me, I have caught yet another cold from my beautiful two year old granddaughter.
My head is full of buckets of green snot, I can't breathe and my chest hurts. My horrendous sore throat from yesterday has gone though so that's a blessing.
Anyway it's dark and brooding here with thunder and lightning rolling around so hopefully won't be too uncomfortable tonight.
I was hoping for a bit more rain for the garden😁

Fellow fat sweaty ginger here 🙋‍♀️ but I hate the heat! Although the really really hot temps of 40+ last year helped me feel like it's not so hot today

Apropos, can anyone recommend a really good portable handheld fan for the Tube? or for anywhere?

Seriously brilliant

CatfoodOzymandias · 10/06/2023 23:20

I did see that but wondering if I might look a bit odd! But on the other hand, nobody cares.

Rockbird · 10/06/2023 23:23

I always go on a school residential this time of year and I bloody knew it would heat up in time for me to have a miserable time next week. Bastard heat. I even made a deal with the powers that be that if this week is cooler I wouldn't moan the rest of the summer but that can sod off now. Roll on Halloween!

Cool gel mats are a god send in the night in this weather.

Cool gel mats are a god send in the night in this weather.

I got one for the cat who looked at me like I was mad and curled up on a blanket
His loss, my gain!

Also those frozen gel packs for injuries - wrap in a light tea towel and take them to bed

Mydoghealsmyheart · 11/06/2023 01:26

I’m still awake and on MN as it’s too hot to sleep. Got the fan on the highest setting but it’s not doing a lot.

LifeIsPainHighness · 11/06/2023 01:28

I absolutely despise the hot weather and only enjoyed today because of a local event that was going on.

Sweaty tits, burning skin, insane discomfort, the stress of suncream/hats/drinks etc. 20 degrees is my limit. I am hiding indoors tomorrow

LifeIsPainHighness · 11/06/2023 01:29

My house is 300 years old and cool as hell, I love it! The last place I loved in was a new build and summers were torture.

Justcashnosweets · 11/06/2023 01:34

I detest the hot weather! I'm working tonight and where i work the heat is unbearable, even with fans on. I end up covered in sweat, and feeling really sick and achey, with ever increasing rage. It doesn't help that i'm fat and peri menopausal either 😅

Furries · 11/06/2023 02:08

I’m just grateful to finally have had a day that felt wonderfully warm. Spring never really arrived here. We have had constant cloud cover. And, on the odd days with bright blue sky, we’ve had a biting wind for most of them.

Today was blooming lovely for me. But I understand it’s been a real east/west divide re weather, so for those that have had warmer temperatures for a while, am sorry that it’s making things unpleasant.

Cant quite believe that it’s only 10 days until the summer solstice - hasn’t been warm enough to sit out in the garden in the evening until today.

Theoldwoman · 11/06/2023 02:36

When I first moved to Australia and didn’t have air conditioning, I used to put ice packs between the sheets to cool the bed down. It worked a treat.

Soubriquet · 11/06/2023 08:39

Fingers crossed this thunderstorm hits!

Its been and gone here. At least the garden got some rain. But its very muggy and yuck.

the80sweregreat · 11/06/2023 21:46

Hot weather is the pits

Whattodo112222 · 11/06/2023 21:49

Utterly awful today

JimnJoyce · 11/06/2023 21:50

its 25 degrees inside here at the moment

stbrandonsboat · 11/06/2023 22:26

I look so beautiful with my bright red face, sweaty hair sticking to my skin and wet boobs 🥵😂

PickleSarnie · 11/06/2023 22:30

It's the hayfever and lack of sleep that gets me. Then, by the time my hayfever improves, it's angry wasp season.

I love duvets and jumpers and get so excited when October (best month ever) arrives.

AlexCabot · 12/06/2023 07:04

I'm with you.

All of the thing's already mentioned plus due to scars on my arms I hate having to take my cardigan off but I work in the world's stuffiest office.

itsmellslikepopcarn · 12/06/2023 07:12

I don’t mind the early 20s but this is too much! My office is in my conservatory (no room anywhere else in the house) and it hit 38 degrees in there yesterday. Not looking forward to trying to work in there today.
