I have just finished watching Sons of Anarchy and...

spoiler

Jax's death hit me harder than any tv death before! I think it was because there was so much meaning behind it and after watching multiple series you really feel like you know the characters (sign of a good show creator I guess)

Ned Stark is probably a close second, that was messed up.

What tv deaths have most upset you?

Butteredtoast55 · 03/06/2023 21:17

Mark Green was heartbreaking.
I also sobbed when Sister Evangeline died in Call the Midwife.

Backatworkmum · 03/06/2023 21:18

PoppyBlunt · 03/06/2023 21:20

Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey.

I'm still furious with Dan Stevens for wanting to leave the show. 😂

Late to the party but I've recently started greys, will brace myself 😬

The ending of 'Sons Of Anarchy' was one of the most satisfyingly complete TV moments ever in my book.

I'll also nominate the haunting last episode of 'Ashes To Ashes'.

Heartbreaking.

AlwaysFoldingWashing · 03/06/2023 21:21

Derek in Grays anatomy but also agree with sons of anarchy

blibblibs · 03/06/2023 21:22

Dr Greene, every time.

PuttingDownRoots · 03/06/2023 21:23

The doctors brother in Scrubs.
Colonel Blake in MASH

Tygertiger · 03/06/2023 21:23

Mark Greene, Lucy Knight and Greg Pratt in ER. Particularly Lucy - I really didn’t see that one coming and it was absolutely heartbreaking.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 03/06/2023 21:24

ER - Lucy. I really struggled to continue watching after that

fancreek · 03/06/2023 21:24

Derek. There's nothing worse than watching her shoutcry "DEREK"

flumpalamp · 03/06/2023 21:24

Stringer Bell

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 03/06/2023 21:24

Barbara in CtM. I've watched it far too many times, and sob every single time. I cry as soon as that episode starts now Blush

highlandcoo · 03/06/2023 21:25

Stan Ogden in Coronation Street. Later on - after the funeral during which she stayed quite composed - when Hilda comes across his specs and breaks down. Just a small very true moment; Coronation Street used to be so good at those.

fancreek · 03/06/2023 21:25

Oh and Denny, when Izzie is all dressed up for him Sad

WomanOfSteel · 03/06/2023 21:25

Daphne on Neighbours. I was only a little kid and never known anyone die before. I taped the episode so I’d always remember her face. 😆 I watched it on YouTube the other week and pissed myself at it. So cheesy.

StewPots · 03/06/2023 21:26

George and Derek in Greys.

Mark in ER.

Sure there are loads more but those three come to mind! Oh and Carl in the Walking Dead!

HeidiUpTheMountain · 03/06/2023 21:26

Mark Greene in ER is still the most affecting.

Barbara in Call the Midwife was pretty sad.

Sherlock’s death that wasn’t - but I may have been over-invested and therefore in a heightened state.
