Tv deaths that really got to you ***SPOILERS

I have just finished watching Sons of Anarchy and...

spoiler

Jax's death hit me harder than any tv death before! I think it was because there was so much meaning behind it and after watching multiple series you really feel like you know the characters (sign of a good show creator I guess)

Ned Stark is probably a close second, that was messed up.

What tv deaths have most upset you?

Can't believe no one has said Rachel in Cold Feet.

BestIsWest · 03/06/2023 21:38

Nicola Walker in Spooks was sad but Unforgotten was heartbreaking.

Mark Sloan

George in Greys - it was done so cleverly and was so sad as he had finally found his calling.

Also Mark and Lexie in Greys - more so because they never really got a chance to be together.

Michael in Jane the Virgin. Hated the way they brought him back.

COPPER3 · 03/06/2023 21:41

Rachel in Cold Feet. I have never been able to watch any more episodes.
Bobby Ewing in Dallas...Oh wait ... he came back...

Shivvy1 · 03/06/2023 21:42

Rayna in Nashville, that really upset me 😢

Avril and Laurence in How We Used To Live in about 1986.

I’m still not ok about it 🙁

YES! On their son's birthday too. I was really stunned, couldn't believe they'd do that.

Oh goodness yes. Villanelle!

Buffypaws · 03/06/2023 21:47

Yes to Tara and Joyce. And Adriana. Also in the sopranos the stripper who Tony was friends with. Maxine from Corrie. Ygritte, Daenerys, Mircella, Missandei. Ronnie Mitchell’s baby that she swapped with Kat’s. I stopped watching eastenders after that.

stargirl1701 · 03/06/2023 21:47

Lucy from ER.

Xena.

Renee Walker in 24.

1984Winston · 03/06/2023 21:50

Glen from the walking dead 😭

BebbanburgIsMine · 03/06/2023 21:51

So many in The Last Kingdom, but especially Thyra and Vibeke.

Gyda, Angrboda, and Helga in Vikings.
Barbara in Call The Midwife.

The last episode of Blackadder Goes Forth.
Meg in Home and Away. So sad that the actress herself died of cancer.

There must be more, just can't think just now.

WhyDoesItAlways · 03/06/2023 21:51

Rachel in cold feet.

Lexi, mark and Derek in Grey's.

Glen, Hershel and Carl in walking dead.

Firefly Lane

Sonya in neighbours

mirages08 · 03/06/2023 21:51

Agree with many on here...ER, Greys etc but recently Dean Winchesters death in the finale of supernatural.
Utter shitshow...
Writers just gave up on s15 imo

BodegaSushi · 03/06/2023 21:52

Years and Years. When the brother dies in the migrant crossing after trying to bring his partner back in (after being deported because his crazy ex reported him out of spite).

Utterly heartbreaking, because it's real. And the whole lead up to it, the way their situation was deployed and were scammed out of money and were just so desperate that they even got into the boat to begin with.

And the painful irony that the partner made it but he didn't. So so sad, had to pause watching the rest of the series after that.

Gazelda · 03/06/2023 21:52

Lucy ER
Mark Greene ER
Mrs Landingham WestWing
Leo WeSt Wing
Nicola Walker Unforgotten
The chip oil woman in Spooks. Can't recall her name.

Latenightreader · 03/06/2023 21:52

Tasha Yar in Star Trek TNG. I started watching in the mid 90s (6pm, BBC2!) and was home with flu when the episode aired. I sobbed and kept rewatching. I thought of little else for days!

A very early episode of Call the Midwife. A frail man living in squallor was forcibly moved into an OAP home in former workhouse. It was really grim and he died soon after. I sob through most episodes but I can't rewatch that one.

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 03/06/2023 21:53

Jamie Mitchell Sad

Meem321 · 03/06/2023 21:53
