If you're in a cafe and order chicken mayonnaise sandwiches but ask to add a little chopped red onion to the sandwich.

How much would you expect to pay for the addition of red onion?

75p

marshmallowsforbreakfast · 03/06/2023 16:56

£1-£1.50

BrokenWing · 03/06/2023 16:56

Our local cafe it is around 90p last time I was in for each extra filling in a sandwich.

heldinadream · 03/06/2023 16:57

How many sandwiches, because you say both sandwich singular and sandwiches plural?

Justmuddlingalong · 03/06/2023 16:57

50p

Pinkflipflop85 · 03/06/2023 16:57

Around 80p to £1 for extra filling

Greenbeanmcgee · 03/06/2023 16:57

Just so that I don't drip feed the cafe actively advertises that they'll make you any sandwich filling that you want if it's not on the menu.

One sandwich for one person.

Nothing a small amount of red onion costs about 6p

Excitingnewusername · 03/06/2023 16:58

75p - £1 maybe...

(though in all honesty, nothing)

BrokenWing · 03/06/2023 16:58

Average range is going to be 50p - £1.50 with a couple of outliers.

How much was it?

DontBePassiveAggresive · 03/06/2023 16:59

Depends how much the sandwich was.
Sandwich £7 extra £1.50 for onion
Sandwich £4 extra 50p

If it wasn't on the menu though I think they can charge whatever they want as it's a bit annoying for them to do it.

Babyroobs · 03/06/2023 16:59

50p

Georgig · 03/06/2023 16:59

About £1 to £1.50 for vegetarian or £2 to£2.50 for meat addition. I think that's about the same as for extra toppings on pizza.

Invisimamma · 03/06/2023 16:59

I wouldn't expect to be charged really but maybe £1 if it's classed as an 'extra filling.'

They literally encourage you to order off menu and have other sandwiches that include chopped red onion.

This

ThinkOfLove · 03/06/2023 17:01

£1 -£1.50 extra

StopFeckingFaffing · 03/06/2023 17:02

Depends if a cost is listed for 'extra fillings' but 50-75p if no price listed (or ideally nothing if its already quite pricey!)

WeAreTheHeroes · 03/06/2023 17:02

If it's an additional item to the filling ingredients you can expect to pay more. I think around £1 and the sandwich was around £8. It's tough for small businesses at the moment, especially ones with perishable stock.

ThreeRingCircus · 03/06/2023 17:02

I would also say £1

uncomfortablydumb53 · 03/06/2023 17:03

As red onion was on the menu I'd say 50p.. it's like customising a pizza

AllTheChaos · 03/06/2023 17:05

also assuming £1-£1.50

TidyDancer · 03/06/2023 17:05

I would think anything more than 50p would be excessive.

MichaelAndEagle · 03/06/2023 17:07

Honestly probably nothing.
