DP doesn't get poo cramps

What's wrong with him? What's wrong with his body?

I'm not the weird one, right? Most people if they eat something their body doesn't entirely agree with get a crampy-feeling until it's all out right? Mine is after anything with too much dairy or fish and chips/other greasy takeaways.

He thinks he's the normal one and I'm the odd one. But I've never heard of anyone just not having poo cramps?! Are there people who just... need to have a poo? And that's it? Every time?

As I make yet another trip to the toilet I am awash with envy. Also I should probably just stop eating chocolate. Hmm

It's you, not him.

GrazingSheep · 02/06/2023 12:01

Shit happens 💩

PollyAmour · 02/06/2023 12:03

It’s not a topic of conversation in my house or place of work, so I don’t know if you’re the only one. I hope this thread doesn’t get infested by copraphiliacs 🤮

Whichwhatnow · 02/06/2023 12:04

Erm this is not a thing I experience. Food poisoning aside there are no cramps here.

ditalini · 02/06/2023 12:04

Plenty people can tolerate pretty much all food, food poisoning or massive over indulgence aside.

You're both normal.

JustDanceAddict · 02/06/2023 12:04

Maybe you’ve got ibs?
I get them occasionally but my gut is buggered.

PotatoCrossroads · 02/06/2023 12:05

Common in my family because of IBS. But generally I would assume it normal to not get them.

ItsFunToBeAVampire · 02/06/2023 12:05

It sounds like you have IBS and he doesn't.

spudulike1 · 02/06/2023 12:06

I get them, my DP doesnt. I have IBS syptoms, he doesnt

SuperbSummer2023 · 02/06/2023 12:07

I get 'notification' that I've eaten something my body isn't happy about, but it's more a rumbling than cramps.

addler · 02/06/2023 12:07

What?! It actually is me?

I guess it's just what I've always known so I assumed it was normal. Its always been that way.

Oh dear, I should probably do a proper food diary. And apologise to DP Blush

I get this plus awful colon aches afterwards recently too. I think I must have piles too as do really thin stools . Poo cramps are definitely a thing OP

Notajollyholly · 02/06/2023 12:07

If you get cramps its because something is wrong, may well be a food intolerance, constipation, IBS or diverticulitis. Poo doesn't hurt

WoofWoofBeachLife · 02/06/2023 12:07

No poo cramps here unless I've eaten something dodgy. Don't eat too much dairy or greasy takeaways and you won't get cramps 🤣

CindersAgain · 02/06/2023 12:08

I don’t ever feel that food has disagreed with me, or get cramps unless I have a tummy bug.

Theos · 02/06/2023 12:08

No. You’re weird

ShowOfHands · 02/06/2023 12:09

DH is like you and always assumed he was normal with the cramps and frequent visits at certain times. He now knows that he actually has an underlying disorder and he is not the norm.

Outside of food poisoning, probably 3 times in my life, I've never had anything like you describe.

ComeTheFuckOnBridgett · 02/06/2023 12:10

🤣🤣

Hazelnuttella · 02/06/2023 12:10

Sorry it’s you. Getting cramps is the exception, not the rule.

Outdamnspot23 · 02/06/2023 12:11

I sometimes get this but very rarely, usually eating something a bit richer than I usually have in a restaurant. But if I was getting it repeatedly with the same things I’d be avoiding those things! Scampi always sent my running to the toilet so scampi and I are no longer pals.

IntoDeepBlueSea · 02/06/2023 12:11

Endometriosis.

That will do it. Otherwise, no, that's the only time I've had cramps.

mindutopia · 02/06/2023 12:12

Look into exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. Do you have any other symptoms?

GeraltsBathtub · 02/06/2023 12:12

I’ve never heard of poo cramps until now much less experienced them!

addler · 02/06/2023 12:13

This has really surprised me.

I guess because it is a topic that isn't often talked about, as a pp said, if you have nothing to compare it to and you've never known anything different it's just normal.

I didn't actually know that you could not have pain and just go a regular amount no matter what you eat, even if that sounds stupid. I can't imagine it. I'd say if I had to think about it I'm probably in some form of gastro-related pain every day.

I get horrible cramps and then suddenly need a poo but I’ve had ibs all my life and I think it’s that. I don’t think it’s normal!
