Ukrainian surrogacy in Ireland

Deeocal · 08/05/2023 20:17

This lady has used the help of a Ukrainian surrogate to grow her family, and is also sharing her journey on social media. Sharing to wish them luck on their return journey home ☘️

I believe this is also a journey Rosanna Davison (former miss world?) has undertaken although not in current circumstances.

‘I just want to get home’ – Irish couple and their newborn son shelter from bombs in Ukraine

Early last week, with her newborn baby asleep in her Kyiv hotel room, Jane Cunningham was awoken by a siren from her phone — an air-raid alert had been triggered, as Russian missiles and drones headed for the Ukrainian capital.

A shame to see there is negativity here for those who are struggling with infertility
Stop with the disingenuous nonsense, op. Nobody has negative feelings towards anyone struggling with infertility.

a little surprised by the tone of the comments on this thread

Just joined mumsnet then?

A shame to see there is negativity here for those who are struggling with infertility.

We're not being negative about that though are we? We're being negative about them paying a vulnerable woman in war zone to have the baby for them.

Rosanna Davison had a similar journey and do not believe she received such negativity.

Did she/you start several attention seeking mumsnet posts too?

This is not a journey
Many of us have struggled with infertility. Doesn't mean we would take a baby from a poor woman in a war torn country.
Not sure what the op expected here.

It’s horrific, exploitation of a woman in a war torn country and taking a baby away from its mother in the first week, no support from me.

The surrogate isn’t the mother though is she? She carried the baby but it wasn’t a baby made with her own egg.

PegasusReturns · 08/05/2023 22:12

Sickening exploitation of a woman currently experiencing war.

Disgusting failure to consider what is best for the child.

Unspeakably selfish

BattenDownTheHens · 08/05/2023 22:12

And was always intended to be brought up by the biological mother and father

Clymene · 08/05/2023 22:13

There is nothing nice about baby trafficking from desperate women in war torn countries

UCUNoMore · 08/05/2023 22:13

Of course the woman who grew the baby inside her body for 9 months is the mother.

Goodoccasionallypoor · 08/05/2023 22:16

*The surrogate isn’t the mother though is she? She carried the baby but it wasn’t a baby made with her own egg.

@BattenDownTheHens *

Does this mean that women who use a donor egg but carry the baby are not really their baby's mother?

BattenDownTheHens · 08/05/2023 22:16

UCUNoMore · 08/05/2023 22:13

Of course the woman who grew the baby inside her body for 9 months is the mother.

I disagree with you. Not only is she not the biological mother, she never wanted to or intended to become the child’s mother. So of course she isn’t.

MichelleScarn · 08/05/2023 22:17

Have just read the non pay wallet news report and this quote is just grim from the Irish blogger "I’m quite a determined person,” she adds with a laugh. “Even a war wasn’t going to stop me from having a second baby.”
Does she think all the people in Ukraine think the wars such a laugh?

NurseCranesRolodex · 08/05/2023 22:17

This is human trafficking and if you can't see that you are lacking insight. Poor, poor little baby ripped away from it's physical mother, no skin to skin, although these stupid, selfish fuckers probably performed their own via social media. Little baby already has trauma, it's been in a war zone it's entire gestation and now handed over like a prize fucking marrow at the shittest (baby) farmers market ever. Disgusting.

BattenDownTheHens · 08/05/2023 22:12

Of course the woman who just gave birth to the baby is it's mother 🙄

MichelleScarn · 08/05/2023 22:17

Pay wall not wallet!

Goodoccasionallypoor · 08/05/2023 22:18

@BattenDownTheHens

Who do you think the baby thinks it's mother is? Or doesn't that matter?

What a fucking muppet. Utterly shameful.

That isn’t the same situation, is it?

There is always the intention and desire there to be the child’s mother and the donor of the egg did not intend to be the mother.

darjeelingrose · 08/05/2023 22:19

I think for @BattenDownTheHens neither the baby or the Ukranian mother matter, all that counts are the people with enough cash to exploit a woman in a war zone, don't you think @BattenDownTheHens ?

ReadersD1gest · 08/05/2023 22:20

I don't think intent has any bearing here. She gave birth to the baby, she's the baby's mother.

Exactly, the baby is just a commodity with no rights.

darjeelingrose · 08/05/2023 22:21

The OP has disappeared.
Or gone for a quick name change?

Go pimp your surrogacy agency elsewhere and sod off here with exploiting vulnerable women on both sides of the transaction.

Deeocal · 08/05/2023 22:24

The troll hunting here is odious. I am still here.

the lady in the article has stated that her surrogate has given her the greatest gift. I do not think for one second that we can underestimate what she has done for this couple.

PretzelKnot · 08/05/2023 22:25

Absolutely disgusting. The two people who should be centred at the start of new life, the mother and the baby, are kicked to the bottom of the pole. What selfish exploitative idiots.
