Our household went off on a tangent on security but now we are having a discussion on what would happen if the carriage with William, Kate and the kids was blown up. I'm guessing Harry and Meghan wouldn't want to take that job neither would the public. Where would the crown go next? Ann and her oldest child? End of the monarchy? I'm enjoying watching it but it feels nuts to do all of this for one person.

Bouledeneige · 06/05/2023 13:34

I bet they'll all have a fun day when they can let their hair down and after all the ceremony is done

Bouledeneige · 06/05/2023 13:33

Was the fly past due for 2.30 if it happens?

Yes. I hope it does, the bbc says it's a 6 minute fly past planned. Shame to not be able to do it.

Lulu1919 · 06/05/2023 13:35

Bet they're all ready for a cup of tea !!

If Harry and family didn't want it, technically it's Andrew next.

Probably prefer to slob out in slippers and dressing gown!

Casuaala · 06/05/2023 13:35

Was the fly past due for 2.30 if it happens? Was it 1:45?

(I don't think it's tasteful to discuss order of succession, but you can quickly google it).

How big do you reckon that flag on the roof is?

It’s harry and his children, then I’m afraid Andrew 😩

Or she used the name that English speakers, who can’t speak Welsh use

More likely she didn't want a slagging for saying it wrong. I've only seen the Welsh name written down

Sorry I might see it here where I live on its way

Prince William saluting in the carriage as they passed the Princess Diana memorial.

Where's it coming from?

TheCreamTeaWasFromMe · 06/05/2023 13:37

Right - need a wee and to get on with things. Place-marking and will be back in a bit for the balcony appearance!

It looks much bigger than usual

Barbadossunset · 06/05/2023 13:37

As pp have said, the perfect organisation of this is mind boggling.

🤢🤢🤢

Harry would snap up that chance. Most of his complaints seemed to be that he wasn't the Heir.

Prince William saluting in the carriage as they passed the Princess Diana memorial.

Which memorial?

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 06/05/2023 13:38

I'm about 10 minutes behind in the parade as had to stop it. I love seeing the militaries.

DysonSpheres · 06/05/2023 13:38

Watching this I'm thinking what a huge shame it is that Harry's children are not there to really experience this. Even though they're young, I'm sure it would have made an impression. They've missed out on something of huge family importance. One wonders what their titles will really mean to them when it's so removed from context and experience.

Jitterybugs · 06/05/2023 13:38

i wonder if they’ll all sit round the tv later and watch the highlights.

diddl · 06/05/2023 13:38

I quite enjoyed it.

Bet APB never thought that one day he'd be Westminster Abbey watching his ex wife be crowned Queen!

polkadotdalmation · 06/05/2023 13:38

@BlueThursday I overall support the royal family, simply because of the drama and the colour (who wants a miserable boring meritocracy) but if that happened, I'd be a republican overnight.
