ITV saying the coach has arrived early
There was certainly a glitch, the King and Queen waited for some time. Was it that William and Kate were not ready? There’s a clip on twitter of Charles looking quite cross.

How long did they wait?

Labtastic · 06/05/2023 20:11

Just came on here to ask this question! I think they had to wait because W&K weren't there yet, but not sure whether that was because the Wales's were late, or Charles and Camilla were early? 🤔

KrasiTime · 06/05/2023 20:13

It’s unusual for the royals to get the timings wrong. Wonder why?

Rockybooboo · 06/05/2023 20:19

NurseCranesRolodex · 06/05/2023 15:51

Their titles will likely just mean the opportunity of massively cashing in across the pond and round the world on their RF links. H's idiocy & Megan's bloody mindedness have deprived their children of an incredible experience. Even if they had been in London, their parents could have let them join in with family celebrations. I didn't see any other RF children their age except the Wales and working ones.

I don't think two small children would have enjoyed that ceremony.

I can only think it was an emergency eg one of the children threw up at the last minute. Where were they coming from? Maybe traffic/car trouble. I'd like to know, being nosy!

I'd think Charles / William are more likely to turn to Zara & Peter to plug any gaps in the Firm than to turn to Louise & James who are both still very young.

I also think the York girls would be very put out if their younger cousins were asked and they weren't

York ladies are associated with their dad, it may be seen as risky for royals. No fair, but that's the way it is. Zara and Peter are commercial. It's not appropiate to see royal performing duties, while her husband is seen eating kangaroo's penis in the jungle.

WildRosie · 06/05/2023 21:29

The music choices were a good balance of old and new. I admit the Lloyd-Webber tune wasn't really to my taste but the Alleluia by Debbie Wiseman was good. The performance by the gospel group was a different touch and Justin Welby seemed to like it. And then the old classics; Crown Imperial, Zadok The Priest, Plump Uncircumcised...

Deathraystare · 06/05/2023 21:30

Enjoyed most of it. Loved the choirs, the gold coach though doubt it is comfy, that lady singer's gorgeous yellow dress, the flypast but.... Ant and Dec and bloody Myleene Klass? Yeah yeah I know why they were rhere. Just fed up of seeing them every bloody where still... at least she wasn't flaunting that damn white bikini!!!!!

LaMarschallin · 06/05/2023 21:35

I know I'm late asking this and I'm sure it's already been said, sorry, but who was the young boy (possibly one of the pages?) who formally addressed the King during the coronation? I've tried Googling, but am obviously not using the right combination of search terms.
I thought he did it very well.

river2 · 06/05/2023 21:36

the boy was a chorister I believe

LaMarschallin · 06/05/2023 21:38

Gosh, that was quick, river2!
Thank you very much Smile

He did it so well! For such a young age and opening a Coronation!

The only Royal children were the Wales's. Camillas Grandsons were train barers but they are 13. Not sure what other DGC she has.
The York children are all too small but none of Peter or Zaras children were there. So I'll assume there has been a decision made not to include them.

He was one of the choir boys they said on the commentary who he was.

It might be on the Order of Service that can be downloaded

Obscure campanology fact: there were eight bells rung at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, today there were ten. The extra two were restored In the 1970s.

I love facts like these.
Thank you

LatteOneShotplease · 06/05/2023 22:48

I'm so slow: I only just realised that George, Charlotte and Louis were wearing red, white and blue respectively 😍

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 06/05/2023 22:54

I didn’t realise because it looked like Louis was wearing black. I did wonder why they had dressed him like that.

Not significantly though. Charlotte wore white because all the women traditionally do, George was in red because he was chosen as a page. Louis may have been in a very dark blue although it looked like black to me. Nothing like the blue of the flag though. It's coincidence they were those colours.

LatteOneShotplease · 06/05/2023 23:16

@DappledThings Hm, so maybe it is just coincidental, and yes I of course realised that George dressed that way for his role, but very nice that it worked out that Charlotte would be in white as per the rule, and Louis in blue (albeit not the royal blue) or the full set. Sort of.
I think it was nice, either way

And I did like the Mini-Me of Charlotte and Catherine.
(I did the same for my daughter and I when she was two and not a bridesmaid for my sister as "too little". We looked fab!)

Others may have said 0r thought about the Hindu religion but I didn’t. Sick 0f saying it.

FFS. I very clearly stated that others had said it. Others, not you. That was why people had been talking about it. It had precisely nothing to do with you at all but you just dropped it into this thread for some reason. Did anyone whatsoever say it was you?

Ilovetea33 · 07/05/2023 01:50

"Plump Uncircumcised.." Ha, ha! Seems like voice recognition has struck again!

PolkaDotMankini · 06/05/2023 13:39

I loved the outfits. Kate 😍Penny looked fab too. Camilla's companions look just like her. I couldn't tell which one was her sister.

Yes. That was odd!

They'd end up with the same rules as Harry, no half in half out. If you join the firm it's a full-time job and no business deals of the back of it (we've had that issue before Sophie)

It wouldn't be so much of an issue if Harry was a working royal. But the RF are going to end up low on numbers in 5-10 years time as C&C and Ann start ageing.
