Good when I was a kid, a bit crap in recent years, awful now.

What other foods have turned to rubbish?

I’m not sure what the import costs are, as I bought my stash from a UK company called Sanza.

It was expensive but I’d rather pay more and eat less of it than spend money on the crap Cadbury’s are peddling!

Thanks @LunaNorth :-)

I've never been a fan of nestle chocolate. If push came to shove between Cadbury and galaxy I'd go for galaxy every day of the week. But a friend of mine has started up her own artisan chocolate making business and it is yum! Company is called Rawsome Chocolate - raw ingredients and vegan. Loads of quirky and delicious flavour combinations too.

Caramac - now disgusting grainy sugar. I actually sent a complaint with a link to a review site all saying the same. Got no response though. (Sorry if someone else mentioned this earlier - no time to read 21 pages at the mo.)

Mars Bars :(
They used to be all caramel-y and soft on the inside etc. now it just tastes like a bar of sugar

Plenty of other websites listing the many scandals involving Nestlé, and the colossal and often surprising list of products that link back to them.

I used to love their thick tinned cream when I was a child. And Smarties. My kids liked Cheerios, my cats liked the old-style Felix, but I won’t knowingly buy anything under their bloodied umbrella.

5 of Nestlé's Worst Controversies Explained

Nestlé products are among the most maligned by ethically conscious consumers. But why? We'll take a quick look at what controversies give Nestlé such a bad rap.

Salt and vinegar Pringles - used to love them, now seem to make my lips go white! Can’t eat them.

Those buggers take the skin off my mouth!

Frys Turkish Delight - I used to love that. Now it's tiny and way too sweet. Horrible. So is Quality Street. Someone should take the time to print out this thread and send copies to all the different manufacturers or organise a JSO type protest...I'm feeling a bit militant, right now 😆

JSPO (just stop palm oil)

nopuppiesallowed · 01/05/2023 07:43

@MeinKraft YES!!

Twiglets are vile now, the one snack I used to think was worth eating and they have killed it stone dead.
Also Matchmakers, rubbish now.

That's because shitty Nestle didn't originally make them. They were Rowntree's. Same as all the other chocolate they bought from other companies and wrecked. Also Nestle should be boycotted anyway. Macintosh was another great chocolate company that I think they bought up and vandalised the chocolate of.
Then there is the shitshow that is cadbury.....

Didn't walnut whips used to have a walnut inside the chocolate as well as on top? Anyone remember that? And the chocolate was about ten times as thick, of course.

I remember that, but they didn't used to be nestle shite either.

Can you still get cheese moments? I loved them, far too much probably.

Roxy69 · 06/05/2023 00:26

All the Choceur named chocolate at aldi is nice and not smooth as far as I can tell.
