Good when I was a kid, a bit crap in recent years, awful now.

What other foods have turned to rubbish?

Tony's Chocoloney is the way to go. It's really expensive, I only get it when it's on offer - but my god, it's worth it.

Disagree , the still love a Whole Nut.

Chocciebiscuit · 25/04/2023 15:51

Cadbury’s Roses, they used to be so good back in the day & now they are horrible plus they have ugly packaging,

Sour cream and onion Pringles. Every so often I try one hoping it will taste as it did in the 90s when they were still sour cream and chive. But they don't. They're dead and our love is but a memory now.

My sister swears that the Aldi fake Pringles taste like the old Pringles did. Might be worth a try.

Dora26 · 25/04/2023 15:54

Lindt or Butlers are the only chocolate I eat now - won’t touch cadburys and nestles is spawn of the devil - pity!

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 25/04/2023 15:56

Cadburys fruit and nut bars. They crunched up the nuts instead of them being whole. Completely ruined it for me

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 25/04/2023 15:56

White chocolate Kit Kats are amazing.

Yes! We call them p-wrong-les (prongles). They are better and cheaper.

I visited my dad yesterday cuppa and the teeniest tiniest kit kat it's like they have shrunk in the wash, so disappointed.

Ritz crackers don't taste the same ,something is missing probably salt 😄

xogossipgirlxo · 25/04/2023 15:59

Nestle Aero chocolate. Leaves weird aftertaste and kind of feeling like eating margarine spread. I shouldn't be surprised really with all this palm oil 😬

Isthatascratchonmygrandmother · 25/04/2023 15:59

Will never get over kitkats switching from foil and paper. My husband printed out the packaging last year, wrapped a four finger kit kat in foil and added the paper sleeve. It was the nicest thing ever and I enjoyed it so much more .

MeinKraft · 25/04/2023 15:59

Tony's Chocolonely tastes like Kinnertons advent calendar chocolate to me. Lily O'Briens is delicious.

Mrsjayy · 25/04/2023 16:02

Tony's chocolate Is so overpriced and it tastes horrible.

I love Lilly Obriens the dessert flavours are my favourite.

Oh top intel! I've never tried them. Will remedy that!

Whoiscomingtosaveyou · 25/04/2023 16:02

Toblerone sadly. Greasy and sweet with no actual chocolate flavour any more. They must have cut the cocoa solids right back.

ComeOnThenFanny · 25/04/2023 16:03

Oh I think it's bloody lovely. I like a Freddo too, and a Twirl. And Minstrels.

Funny someone said about Ritz crackers upthread, I had one this morning and was tasteless. I've got Bell's Palsy atm though, so I thought it was my taste buds!

Toblerone are no longer made in Switzerland (which is why the Matterhorn has been taken off the packaging).

Can't blame the Swiss for wanting to disassociate themselves with a now inferior chocolate! Another Mondelez casualty.

Also is it just me or is cheese just not the same anymore?

Definitely- just a standard block of cheddar doesn’t taste right either. I’ll probably have to buy a more expensive block but it’s blimmin expensive anyway.

Easterfunbun · 25/04/2023 16:09

Batchelors pasta n sauces. They used to be so good, now they’re just tasteless slop.

PictureConsequences · 25/04/2023 16:09

Bit worried I might be the only remaining chocoholic!

Ahh Twirls. It's been a wee while but last time I had one it was decent. Maybe I shall need to move on to Twirls and Flakes. But Flakes are just so flaky :((

I don’t think Tony’s chocolonely is marketed as being superior in taste? I thought the prices were higher because it costs a lot more to produce chocolate ethically? The absence of palm oil probably helps a bit but taste wise it’s fairly average

You see, I love Flakes. But they're so messy to eat and they're tiny now!

Improbablecat · 25/04/2023 16:13

Irn bru

I still have a couple of cans of the old full sugar original recipe stuff in my car for "emergencies"

I wonder how much they'd sell for nowadays 🤔

Housenoob · 25/04/2023 16:14

McDonald's chicken nuggets. They used to be so flavourful (prob the huge amount of salt) and now they just taste like cardboard.
