I've just seen a "butter board" on another thread and feel a bit sick? Who thought smashing butter all over a bit of wood might be appetising? 🤢

Also hate boba tea. Vile little bubbles of pus. Yuk

I quite agree, similarly matcha isn't a trend, but matcha being present in a lot of desserts and cakes is. I also think it's pretty ignorant to say you can't stand the food of an entire country...

We’re not eating the food of an entire country. We’re eating whatever foods have become representative of the country. Thai, Somalian, Ethiopian, Japanese, Spanish….we’re only getting the dishes in vogue, not a whole countries cuisine. And mostly it’s not quite the same as from the country of origin. As demonstrated by the way you’ll get something different if you have it in another country that it didn’t originate in. US Chinese food tastes nothing like ours.

Crushed potatoes. Just, why? If I want to crush my potatoes, I can do it myself. If I want to cut them into pieces and stick my fork in them, I will. I prefer to have the choice.

Not if crushed properly.

Par boil new potatoes then lightly crush with a fork so that when you roast them in oil (herbs optional) the crushed bits go crispy.

Cube croissants. They look crap and dry!

Over filled sandwiches, or indeed over filled anything make me want to vom just looking at them. You do not need 2 kilos of pastrami in a bloody sandwich

Same, they taste of mould, imo, even when fresh.

They've been old I suspect. They should taste lemony and fresh.

I don't like the grazing board nonsense. In fact post covid I don't like any kind of buffet.
