Clemmie Hooper Facing Midwifery Misconduct Hearing

I've not yet seen any other threads on this.

It's not yet clear why there's a heating but it would be interesting to read the decision by the Nursing and Midwifery Council when it's posted online. The hearing ends 8th March.

I'm wondering if the racism she trolled with played out in her work?

So juicy

Interesting that she requested the hearing to be held in private. The massive underpinning ethos of NMC hearings is that they are public, anyone can rock up to an in Person hearing and be in the room, and they’re all reported. It’s so registrants can learn from others mistakes and the public can (supposedly) be reassured that impaired registrants are dealt with appropriately and safety is upheld.

The summary says she has permanently withdrawn from social media. That withdrawal was talked about in relation to her not being likely to reoffend and was part of the consideration of any sanctions against her. So will be interesting to see if she sticks to it.

My guess is that although she has, she may appear more on FoD SM.

The fact that she made a big thing about reading the Reni Eddo Lodge book and posted it on her grid suggests to me that she's all about surface performance of 'the right thing' and either can't be bothered to engage with the deeper issues, or thinks it's all a bit of fuss about nothing. So anything she does to try to find her way back has got to be demonstrably more than just performative virtue signalling.

I remember this too and I think this was her attempt at some sort of damage limitation given what was brewing. I've read the NMC report and it is indeed the lightest sanction that can be given. 44 pages to say that poor mental health caused her to troll and be racist. Appalling.

I was just looking through the report & I wondered who she was making comments about when she referred to a blogger stealing someone else’s DV story for her book?

JackGrealishsLegs · 09/03/2023 21:36

With regard to permanently withdrawing from
social media, she is still active on Instagram on a private account, and on Facebook. Laughable.

imlateasusual · 09/03/2023 22:30

@SoCrossAboutThis of course she wanted it to be in private, no doubt she plans to make an appearance and hope everyone forgot about it. I too don't believe for one minute that she read the book, I don't believe she would care that much about something that doesn't impact her. She came across as that type. Blaming it all on her MH as a result of trolls is absolutely dispicable. She's learned nothing from this.

Yes. And she's still often on her husband's social media which is followed by over half a million.

Im 99% sure that that blogger was a lady called cash caraway
a skint single mum,who fled dv and saw first hand what the tories have done to the country-she wrote a book about it
im not 100% clear what happened but cash (I think) claimed clemmie bullied her off insta (I think she moved to twitter)
I think clemmie put it about that cash was lying about dv-and lifting others stories as her own

Did she?
I missed that
i don’t know the ins and outs of what went on-just that she claimed to have suffered dv and claimed clemmie bullied her
god knows what really went on xxx

Jooliusreezer · 13/03/2023 21:11

Reading about Cash Caraway it looks like she’s gone on to have rather a lot of proper success writing. Good.

Ah, thank you. I’ve actually never heard of Cash Carraway but it reminds me of a thread about Liz Fraser & I wondered if it was connected. That’s awful about the bullying & it wouldn’t surprise me.
