I've really fancied trying these Bueno eggs, finally saw them in Tesco and nearly collapsed in shock at the price. £2.75!! For a few tiny little eggs. I think not. The delights of the Bueno egg will remain a mystery to me.

What have you seen lately that's ridiculously overpriced? I know everything but maybe like the little treats you might have bought that are now so out of budget that you won't buy them even if you can afford too.

50p for one Pink lady apple in Sainsbury this week. I mean, I had an urge for one and I ate half one day, half the next in place of chocolate which would’ve cost more for a single bar, but bloody hell!! They are lovely apples, but fml!

Two small ceramic items I wanted - just over £21 on the Portmeirion website - just over £30 on Wayfair - exactly the same things!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 14/02/2023 13:11

@JFM27 , dh does the same - for us it’s Alta Rica. He’ll often buy 10 jars at a time when it’s reduced.

I paid £3.50 at asda as it was on offer. At Lidl it was £4.99!

Pink Lady apples have been £2 for 4 just about everywhere for ages.

Sainsbury's want £3.25 for a Fray Bentos steak-and-kidney pie! Angry

At our local Co-op, which is never cheap, the same pie is £2.80; and at One-Stop it's "only" £2.30.

I have three stashed away for "an emergency" (I'll use them like throwing-stars if there's a zombie apocalpyse Grin) and they were £1.75 each from Poundland when I bought them just before Christmas. That's only 7-8 weeks ago!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 15/02/2023 16:28

Fray Bentos pies are supposed to be cheap, non-gourmet meals for drunk students - that's their whole raison d'etre, as a kind of cooked Pot Noodle. They often used to have them on offer for £1 each. £3.25 is straying dangerously into quality meal territory, which isn't really their brief at all.

justasking111 · 15/02/2023 16:29

Tesco today earl grey tea bags last week £6 for 100. Today £4 80 for 80. Doing the maths it's still the same price. Anyway they'd reduced the 100 boxes to clear so I bought two

stayathomer · 15/02/2023 16:31

Cat food has gone up by five euro around here. Am in absolute shock

Bigpinktrain · 15/02/2023 16:47

Options Hot Chocolate is shockingly high priced, £4.75 in Tesco. It’s £2.99 in Savers.

Tesco is only really worth it if the items you want are at clubcard price, otherwise I don’t go in.

Glittertrauma · 15/02/2023 17:04

These eyelashes in Boots...£19 for a pair normal Eylure false lashes?!!?

I took a photo because I thought I was hallucinating. They had another pair for £12.50 as well - again, normal disposable Eylure lashes!!!

Weirdly they had other pairs from the same brand around the usual £6 mark.

It’s my favourite but only get it through Clubcard 😕 it’ll be a delicacy before long!

Asda have it for £2 at the moment - but I think only some flavours, and at least one (mint?) is £4.25 (iirc).

I like Lidl's own hot chocolate, but it's obviously not flavoured.

Birds eye? Their price is crazy now. I buy supermarket own, especially that there's no difference in the amount of fish
