Just wanted to say how elegant & these women are. They're not in the spotlight as much but they loved their grandmother & grandfather. I'm sure they are very proud of the lovely women they have grown into.

Meghan looked the best..... her outfit was so chic, demure and sophisticated. Looked like Chanel to me.

She looked stunning

Going back and looking at photos of previous royals in comparison to today is fascinating.

The poster who was saying about Beatrice being a dead ringer for Victoria is spot on. There's a portrait of Victoria at her wedding and you can really see it.

And Charlotte looks just like the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret as kids! I'd love to know who Charles looks like from his ancestors. His looks are so interesting - there is definitely some greek or german in him.

SafeMove · 20/09/2022 14:57

Meghan was wearing Stella McCartney's caped gown. Her Dior hat was amazing too. Vogue have been all over the outfits.

I think Zara and Peter have had an amazing deal with the press compared to the others, except Lady Louise and Viscount Severn who are too young.

Peter - lives on his mum's estate, never had a job that looked like he didn't get it because of his mum, cashed in on his royal connections with ads in China. Yet manages to be Prince Philip's favourite grandson and apart for a few minutes never gets the trashing any of the women do.

Zara - has short but highly successful career in eventing. Now has sponsorships all over the shop that more successful riders would kill for. Again, it's not because of her career but her royal connections.

Beatrice, Eugenie, Meghan, Harry must look on completely bewildered.

Short career? Zara is still a professional event rider! Only running 4 horses this year (understandable with 3 young kids) but still at top level. Not currently getting results for a Senior British team spot but has been on Nation's Cup teams in the last year.

Motherhood and marriage seem to agree with Bea. Her style has really improved in the past year.

Is Eugenie pregnant?

Greenbks · 20/09/2022 15:09

@MeridianB yes because the lady asked ‘who are you?’ 😂

SilverLiningPlaybook · 20/09/2022 15:09

I think Zara has turned into a really beautiful woman. The York sisters also look a lot better dressed than they used to.

I agree. Zara has actually improved with age. Not that 41 is old!

I think the same is true for Sophie. She used to look a bit like a 'bargain basement' Diana, but she's really grown into her looks. She's a very attractive woman now, well into her 50s.

@Shapeshifter5
I went to university with her. Had lots of coffees with her. Very nice, genuine and down to earth. I don't have anything negative to say about her

That's lovely, I think the York sisters look like genuinely lovely girls.

They're hardly 'girls' in fairness.

OP it's interesting what you say about Beatrice looking tiny and very attractive in RL. My sister worked with Fergie years ago and said she was the most beautiful woman she had ever met. Like Beatrice she had amazing skin and hair and was really healthy looking and had a normal body. This doesn't necessarily come across in photos. In contrast, I have seen Kate Middleton in RL and she looks quite gaunt, though she photographs very well.

Even DH commented on how striking Beatrice is in real life... She's not as tall as some of the other royals which is why she doesn't appear stick thin in photos. But I can confirm she is tiny in a very healthy looking way. I would estimate she's a size 8, fabulous porcelain skin & thick, long glossy hair the most beautiful auburn colour. She definitely gets her looks from her mum!

I actually think Charlotte looks like Lady Sarah Chatto.

Some people are very photogenic and some are not.
There was a boy in my DDs primary school was pretty average looking, but he always looked amazing on any class photos. Just stood out.

Idontgiveashitanymore · 20/09/2022 15:28

They all looked lovely but how did they walk on a tiled floor in those heels?

Shapeshifter5 · 20/09/2022 15:30

@Idontgiveashitanymore I was nervous for them going accross the cobbles outside Westminster!

Beatrice and Eugenie have had to deal with an awful lot of flack, indirectly. First Fergie in the 90s with her sex and financial scandals, then the revelations about their father. I quite admire them for not clearing off somewhere - they've stayed in the UK in the eye of the storm round Andy. Felt quite sorry for Beatrice on her wedding day - socially distanced, few guests, dad in disgrace, no day for a bride no matter how privileged.

Charles looks like a throwback to the Hanoverians if you ask me. More like an 18th century monarch than all those Eddie and Bertie types.

Shapeshifter5 · 20/09/2022 15:35

Where did Beatrice & Eugenie go to school?

Zara doesn’t have to work as a Royal. Doesn’t have a Royal title BUT gets to live on the amazing state gifted to her mother by the Queen. They have an easy easy life and ridiculous amount of wealth and don’t work for it.

I believe if the King asked Eugenie and Beatrice to work for the Royal family they would as they’ve wanted to in the past but are not part of the slimmed down Royal family partly to do with who their father is too.

Zara has an easy life?! Having seen the size of the jumps on three day event courses, there is nothing 'easy' about Zara's life. She seems likeable, down to earth, practical and brave to me.

It depends if you think marriage is one day or the rest of your lives I suppose. She wore the Queen's dress,I expect she thought it was a fabulous day. If she'd thought differently she wouldn't have married then or had a huge reception afterwards when restrictions were lifted.

mathanxiety · 20/09/2022 15:54

I see a lot of Bowes Lyon in Charles.

Novum · 20/09/2022 15:56

Anne seems to have been the exception to the rule but most of the prominent women in that family get a hard time at some point. Nobody is interested in the men.

Not really. I remember a time, admittedly a VERY long time ago, when she was the one the tabloids loved to bash. Then it filtered through to them that actually she works bloody hard and does a lot of good, and they moved on to the next target - can't remember who, it was so long ago it was probably Princess Michael of Kent, or even Princess Margaret.
