Just wanted to say how elegant & these women are. They're not in the spotlight as much but they loved their grandmother & grandfather. I'm sure they are very proud of the lovely women they have grown into.

Why does thick hair scream wealth? Do rich women not lose their hair?

If I was rich I'd have extensions for thickness. Or a very convincing hair piece. My hair would also be perfectly smooth and shiny from all the wonderful treatments. Instead... I have fine, thinning frizzy hair.

I always liked Beatrice and Eugenie for not being boring dressers. OK, sometimes they looked dreadful but they always looked like they were having fun with their clothes. They also got huge amounts of flak for being fat when in reality they are both tiny, just with hourglass figures.

They also seem to show that Andrew and Fergie may have been terrible people, they were actually good parents.

If they weren't royals you wouldn't even look twice at them.

Zara is very striking. She manages to be wealthy looking despite not being blessed with thick hair 😆

Beatrice and Eugenie never quite get it right. It must be frustrating to be photographed near Kate in her willowy perfection.

Completely agree. They often get singled out for nastiness about how they look, and it always just sounds to me like spiteful bullying

That's what struck me about Beatrice when I spotted her, she's tiny irl, so petite with amazing bone structure... I was staring like a maniac.. Don't get to London often & there's a royal in front of us:)

I think what's so striking about Zara is her posture & confidence. She dresses for her shape really well. She has a great figure & knows what suits her athletic build.

I once saw Beatrice on the Kings Road and was surprised at how attractive she is in real life. None of her photographs seem to do her justice (except for her wedding photos where she looked stunning).

I am always amazed how neat Charlotte looks. My own DD would look like she had been dragged through a forest backwards by the time she had walked from the car to the church.

One of my kids went to school with a little girl like that. They all went in looking lovely but the other girls would come out with their knee length socks round their ankles, blouses not tucked in, half their hair out of their pony tails and she looked exactly the same as she went in. She wasn't a quiet little thing sat in the corner either, she'd be running round, playing football and very active. I thought it must be some sort of magic as it just didn't seem humanly possible. It certainly wasn't for any of mine, they always came out looking like bags of rubbish.

I think the York girls looked lovely (as they all did) I do think they are really unjustly vilified in the press. Also they are very different body shapes to say Megan and Kate who are both very very slim, I think it’s quite obvious that this factors in to how they are discussed fashion wise I think.

Both of them seem lovely likeable girls, Eugenie actually hosts a podcast about her anti slavery collective which is dedicated to raising awareness of modern slavery which i highly recommend especially for those who think they are useless.

It seems Zara and Peter always got a better deal in the press then Beatrice and Eugenie, I wonder if the negative attitudes towards their parents had an impact on this, as press and public certainly seem to hold Ann in much higher regard - not disagreeing with that but wonder if that affects how their children are perceived also

@Lempt that's an interesting point regarding the parents & press potrayal. I would imagine there's some truth in it.
I really like all the next generation of royals, I'm sure the queen was so proud of her 8 grandchildren, I was just reading there that Lady Louise & her brother James were apparently her favourites.. She was extremely close to Sophie so maybe there is a grain of truth in it.

I think Zara and Peter have had an amazing deal with the press compared to the others, except Lady Louise and Viscount Severn who are too young.

Peter - lives on his mum's estate, never had a job that looked like he didn't get it because of his mum, cashed in on his royal connections with ads in China. Yet manages to be Prince Philip's favourite grandson and apart for a few minutes never gets the trashing any of the women do.

Zara - has short but highly successful career in eventing. Now has sponsorships all over the shop that more successful riders would kill for. Again, it's not because of her career but her royal connections.

Beatrice, Eugenie, Meghan, Harry must look on completely bewildered.

I've always felt for the York girls for a fairly superficial but stressful reason (totally aside from them having a grim dad and being rich/ no money troubles etc.)

They both look like attractive women and have been pretty teenagers and young girls, but I can tell they just don't photograph very well. Especially next to those like Kate or Meghan who do. If they take a risk say with that Philip Treacey headpiece then it looks daft in pictures rather than edgy or cute.

I'm the same, can turn up looking good according to the mirror or other people but am always caught at an unflattering angle in pictures. Some people are just like that and it would really stress me out being so regularly photographed.

That's true even Peter Philip's separation & new girlfriend only got a mention in the tabloids last year... If that had been the Yorks or Harry/William we would still be reading about it.

Zara has looked frightful not that long ago. She wore a hideous blue lacy dress to a 'do' that was far too short and flouncy, with very high heels.

Sometimes she gets it right but at other times she has gone too short, especially when she was still carrying her extra post-baby weight.

The other two look ok sometimes but have looked right frights at other times.

I don't have much good to say about any of them TBH.

Zara and Mike live in a house provided by their mother, who was given the estate by the Queen. They also have some 'work' advertising products (LandRover) so have the best of all worlds: no financial pressures and no royal duties as Zara doesn't have a title.

Originally I found Anne's idea what her children wouldn't be HRH's but I thought that meant they would make their own way in the world and not live off the tax payer. Yes, Zara was a good horse rider and has talent but she also had everything provided to help her in that career.

The other two both have rich husbands, and ok, they did used to have 'jobs' of some sort, but still get money from the Crown, can afford nannies and childcare so they can do a lot that other women their age with kids can't.

I'd like to see them all have to get proper jobs.

I think Beatrice and Eugenie have grown into their looks and their position. They look comfortable in their own skin, Beatrice in particular. She looks so beautiful in her pictures. Kate has become this standard of beauty but I think it's more that, as a poster on this very site put it, she's well turned-out. She knows her strong points and makes sure those are the focus of her image, and chooses clothes that draw attention to her good features, and that distract attention from her weaker points.

I think, for all of them, being able to buy very expensive clothing and have it altered to fit properly, makes a big difference. Also, most of us don't get a professional blowout every time we go out in public.

I really liked the way Beatrice handled her wedding during the pandemic. It showed a solidarity with all the other young people who had to alter their weddings, and she looked just beautiful and so happy on her wedding day. In the few times I've seen videos of her interacting as a royal, she seems to interact in a genuine and caring way. There's a little clip of her smiling at Charlotte during the funeral events and it looks so genuine and caring. Eugenie too. Her wedding dress was so beautifully chosen and made a lovely statement about something important to her.

There are sons and daughters who turn out very well even with the most awful parents.

I'm not sure how their parents were in any way 'good' with the lifestyle choices they have made. Sarah's toe sucking antics, her debts, her scrounging, and his sex life. Hmmm.

I see their daughters as having risen above it all. But they are still very privileged and I say this as a Royalist.

Yes but Zara was always much further down the line of succession so you can't compare.

Anne seems to have been the exception to the rule but most of the prominent women in that family get a hard time at some point. Nobody is interested in the men.

I remember a gossip mag running a story about Peter and Autumn selling their wedding photos to a celebrity magazine like OK or Hello. I was living overseas at the time and it only got a mention that the palace was furious. Was it a big deal here?

@aloris as I said above when i saw Beatrice she was wearing a simple wool dress, tights & ankle boots possibly a leather jacket, that with her thick flowy mane, understated make up & jewellery made her look so wealthy.. She has beautiful skin, bone structure & eyes.

He could have done what Zara does. Play nice, no titles, work enough to placate the Press, nothing to controversial, show up when she's told to and stay in the back ground. That isn't what they wanted.

Zara doesn't do royal engagements or represent the family. I think Sophie and Edward are a better idea of what half in, half out would look like. It didn't go well when they tried.

I actually think B&E seem like they'd be really likable IRL.

OK some of their clothes are unusual but so what? They were always appropriate, they clearly liked them and always looked comfortable and confident. Kate, Zara and Meghan always look well dressed and elegant but... predictable.

If the worse thing you can say about someone is they wear daft hats, then I reckon they are doing alright.

I LOVE how happy and excited E looked when she was getting married.

Totally agree!

Zara usually always has perfect, natural makeup. I was struck at how good it was at the funeral yesterday. it gave her a healthy look and definition plus her hair was well styled too, which can be tricky with shorter hair.
