Just wanted to say how elegant & these women are. They're not in the spotlight as much but they loved their grandmother & grandfather. I'm sure they are very proud of the lovely women they have grown into.

Where did Beatrice & Eugenie go to school?

Beatrice went to St George's, Ascot, Eugenie went to St George's, Windsor - no connection between the two so far as I know. I slightly know someone who was semi-contemporary with Beatrice who said she seemed a good sort. She struggled academically due to dyslexia but got quite reasonable A level results.

When Harry was told he couldn't be half in half out, he must look at the likes of Zara and think WTF?

To be fair, I don't think Harry and Meghan were prepared to give up their titles and be plain Mr and Mrs Windsor (or is it Mr and Mrs Wales?). Zara doesn't have any titles, so that would be a fairer comparison.

I think Princess Charlotte features Lady Sarah Chatto and also the Queen. I also think Lady Louise features the Queen although not as much as Charlotte does. Viscount Severn is a handsome young man.
I've always liked Fergie, I think she's a kind woman who means well but doesn't always come across right, if you see what I mean.

Why?

You think Harry wanted no titles, no security, no representing the monarch, no HRH, no royal patronages?

Because that's Zara's deal. Sure, she benefits greatly from being the queen's granddaughter, but she is not and never has been a part of the 'family business'.

Why? She’s all out. She doesn’t wear uniforms she’s not entitled to and she only appears in public as a member of the family. Exactly like Harry.

They seem so different that it's almost odd to see them in the same sentence. Zara seems no-nonsense, sporty, outdoorsy, like her mum.
Beatrice and Eugenie have had horrendous bullying from the press about their clothes, etc. I think auctioning the infamous hat was a great idea. I also liked that Eugenie showed her scar at her wedding and that Beatrice wore her granny's dress at her wedding. I think it must be difficult to be the daughters of Andrew and Fergie but they have faced and weathered all of the media tirades.
Like a PP, I do like their characterisation on The Windsors - but then I think all the characters on that show are fab Grin

I like their portrayal in the Windsors.

I loved that😁. I think Beatrice has really blossomed and seems like a lovely person. I’m not sure about Eugenie I haven’t warmed to her as much as her sister, but Zara has always been fab.

And knew Princess Anne very well back in the day (allegedly).

Nothing 'allegedly' at all ! Does anyone recall how, the day after The Crown had shown her cavorting round Parker Bowles's bedroom in her undies, she and Camilla were doing some engagement together and there was a bit of amused eye contact? In the 70s there was quite a carousel of of relationships between the 4 of them?

She was dressed smartly & very understated in a wool dress, tights & boots but her thick hair & perfect understated makeup screamed wealth.

I habe thick hair, wear understated makeup day to day and I'm dressed like that today.

Yay, I look rich!

I thought it didn't get better than William being described as looking like a 'malevolent egg' yesterday but 'bargain basement Diana' is up there with that! Apparently Diana used to get annoyed at the comparison as she considered Sophie very average.

Anne seems to have been the exception to the rule but most of the prominent women in that family get a hard time at some point. Nobody is interested in the men.

Not really. I remember a time, admittedly a VERY long time ago, when she was the one the tabloids loved to bash. Then it filtered through to them that actually she works bloody hard and does a lot of good, and they moved on to the next target - can't remember who, it was so long ago it was probably Princess Michael of Kent, or even Princess Margaret.

She was certainly hammered by the press because she didn't play to them, she just got on with things. Once Diana was on the scene Anne's incredible work ethic was ignored in favour of a clothes horse who played their game. Some of Diana's much vaunted causes were Anne's causes years earlier.
The change seemed to occur when she made a long tour in Africa for Save the Children, the press were exhausted trying to keep up and from then they started to admire what she did.

Zara, Beatrice and Eugenie are all attractive women but I wouldn't call them elegant and I'm not sure anyone else would if they weren't royal. Zara especially has a tendency to dress for formal occasions in dresses that are too short and tight and make her look a bit trussed up. She looks far better in casual clothes. The York sisters seem to enjoy fashion and take risks, which is fun, and they always wear good shoes!

"Dignified" "elegant" "poised" how many words can you use for a bunch of very rich people dressed up for their grans funeral. Give it a rest. Yes they looked nice, but so would anyone if money was no object and you had none of the daily life stresses we all face. I think the fawning needs to stop, it's sad their gran died, I don't dispute that, but this nonsense about them looking poised etc 🙄 and pouring over pictures.

Hopefully Charles is determined to edge Andrew out.

Would bringing in either or both of his daughters to have a couple of younger ones working be accepted do you think?

I realise of course that they aren't responsible for their father's actions but I wonder if too many people wouldn't like the association?

I agree. Even the younger children were being venerated just for sitting nicely. It is just too much fawning going on.

I think a 9 year old and a 7 year old sitting nicely for six endless, boring hours is pretty amazing actually. I’d have had to drug mine.

Beatrice and Eugenie have had to deal with an awful lot of flack, indirectly. First Fergie in the 90s with her sex and financial scandals, then the revelations about their father. I quite admire them for not clearing off somewhere - they've stayed in the UK in the eye of the storm round Andy. Felt quite sorry for Beatrice on her wedding day - socially distanced, few guests, dad in disgrace, no day for a bride no matter how privileged.

Beatrice's wedding was perfection. She looked stunning in the Queens tiara and the Queens remodelled dress. Her proud grandparents looking on. She looked very happy. Who needs a massive wedding with all the hassle it entails!!

It’s interesting that Princess Anne’s children, Peter and Zara are very attractive. William and Harry, whose mother was the very beautiful Diana, are not up to that standard. Lol

Interesting to think that will be the last royal wedding of their generation other than Louise and James, who really aren't that known to the public.

We probably won't have a big fancy royal wedding until George or one of his siblings marry, which could be a quarter of a century from now.

@Georgeskitchen I do think Fergie would be great fun at a dinner part.. Randy Andy not so much.

I know someone who turned up at a posh dinner party to find there was no booze because of the guest of honour…who turned out to be Andy (this was a while ago).

William was very handsome and like a male version of his mother until he lost his hair. That really did for him. Some men can carry off the bald look, but William is not one of them. He does have a nice physique and speaking voice however.

I think don’t think any of the three ooze class like Kate does, they all look like they’ve just got off a horse and grabbed the first thing handed to them. That said I do like Zara for that very reason, she’s clearly happier in jodhpurs. The other two I neither admire or dislike, I don’t think either have looks or style but Eugenie got luckier than Beatrice.

Im sure they’re all lovely people though and that’s the main thing.
