Dental hygienist. £50 the week before lockdown, £89 when I went back and £95 now. What's that about?

FourTeaFallOut · 25/06/2022 13:35

Cooked chicken at Tesco. It use to be £3 for two packs, now it's £3.15 for one pack.

Younghorse · 25/06/2022 13:35

Sainsburys Cream cheese. Was £0.95
now it’s £1.45.
Philadelphia is cheaper at £1

RedCarsGoFaster · 25/06/2022 13:36

Butter. Definitely.

We'll just ignore the obvious ones of diesel / petrol / electricity / gas.

mumstheword001 · 25/06/2022 13:39

Everything! ESPECIALLY electric and gas!
We went a "cheaper" provider a few years ago. Our bill was £68 a month for both gas and electric. Then went up to £84 then £200and then recently £300! We haven't even changed our usage!

Amdone123 · 25/06/2022 13:39

I like cheese slices, were 2 packs for £3. I know it's cheaper to buy a block but I need my cheese measured !
£3.80 - I was shocked. Put it back and I'll do without. My waistline will thank me.

I was 😲 at this too.

CorpusCallosum · 25/06/2022 13:41

Fuel, gas & electric 😔

Squiff70 · 25/06/2022 13:41

Rotisserie chicken (not an essential, I know). Used to be about £5. Now nearly £7 at Asda. I'd be happy to pay the extra if I knew the birds' welfare standards had improved but sadly I suspect that's not the case.

neveradullmoment99 · 25/06/2022 13:41

Primula cheese spread. £1 to £1.69

Huntswomanonthemove · 25/06/2022 13:43

£9 for a prawn sandwich from our local deli. Anyone who likes Lurpak, try Danpak from Lidl. We can’t tell the difference.

IfYouOnlyKnew · 25/06/2022 13:44

My kids like toasting waffles for breakfast, the ones in sainsburys went from £1 for a pack of 8 to £1.50 for 8. I’ve bought them from aldi since!
