Anchor butter... £6.50 a tub (Tesco, Asda etc)

Bytrgrewd · 25/06/2022 15:05

Dip dabs went up from 20p to 45p. I used to get ds 5 for helping with the shopping now he only gets two…

Summerlovin20 · 25/06/2022 15:07

I don’t look at individual pricing because it’s too depressing but I buy mostly the same items every week with an Asda online shop, this time last year it was always around £90-£95 a week, this weeks was £132.

Yesterday in asda, they were selling watermelons for £7!!!

OMG £7??!!

The price of haircuts has increased quite a bit at my usual salon

Tootsey11 · 25/06/2022 15:15

Whiskas pouches 12 pack, £3.49 to £3.80 jumped this morning to £4.50.

mrsnec · 25/06/2022 15:15

@anybloodyname Vimto works out at £1 per litre if you buy the big bottles in Iceland. I only go in there for that!

stayathomegardener · 25/06/2022 15:15

Pine nuts £3.40 for a tiny bag. Now officially my luxury item.

Tootsey11 · 25/06/2022 15:16

Home Bargains vimto squash still £1

anybloodyname · 25/06/2022 15:17

Thank you @mrsnec I do forget about Iceland !

In fact you've prompted me to go and stock up on a few Slimming world meals while I'm there 😂

£9 for a prawn sandwich from our local deli. Anyone who likes Lurpak, try Danpak from Lidl. We can’t tell the difference.

Seriously ?
£9 !?
Ty for the Danpak advise, I will try that.

mrsnec · 25/06/2022 15:20

Since I moved back to the UK my biggest shock is public transport. A single ticket to my next nearest big town is £4.75. It's 5 miles. A return ticket on the train 1 stop, 8 minutes costs £11!

Hairdresser - yes!

Pre covid I paid £16.50 for a trim, an inch or 2 off the bottom kind of thing, I would wash my hair before I went and she would sometimes dry it off but not blow dry. Or I would leave with wet hair. During covid it went up to £22 as they insisted on having hair washed there. Now I am back to my normal cut, I wash myself, cost is now £26.50.

NellesVilla · 25/06/2022 15:37

Taxis- £10 to go about 2.5 miles? Really? And not in London.

MsOllie · 25/06/2022 15:39

For dentists it's worth seeing if they have denplan
I think I pay about £17pm and it covers 2 x check ups, 2 x hygienist and any work except lab fees

Truenorthmum · 25/06/2022 15:43

My sons milk was around £1.05 in 2021, now it's around £1.70 and often out of stock. Costs about £10 a week for milk for one toddler under two, never mind all the other dairy & egg & nut free alternatives he needs.

Tumbleweed101 · 25/06/2022 15:47

Milk has really jumped up. Tesco was £1.09 for 4pts now £1.35.

Metabigot · 25/06/2022 15:47

Shrinkflation rather than price increases bothers me more somehow. Less honest.

10 choc ices £1 in co op now 6 for £1

timtam23 · 25/06/2022 15:48

Lurpak spreadable butter. I used to buy it when on special offer at £2.50. Now it's £4.50 with no sign of any special offers, and may have gone up again since last week. I've bought Aldi's own version instead, the ingredients are exactly the same as Lurpak and apart from looking a bit yellower it tastes the same.

Metabigot · 25/06/2022 15:49

Also large nuts and raisins in m and s £11

£11 ????

Ariela · 25/06/2022 15:49

@daffodilandtulip I'm sure it was Warburtons rolls I bought at 89p/12 in Aldi last week.

LidlMissSunshine · 25/06/2022 15:50

Broccoli. It's doubled in price.
