16.4 units (lager)... starting 1pm finishing probably 7pm. Driving tomorrow 11am...

Everyone is different so it's difficult to say.

FuckingNoise · 02/06/2022 12:55

Female 9.10 stone

No. I'd give it 24 hours.

toomuchlaundry · 02/06/2022 12:56

What’s that in pints?

Judd · 02/06/2022 12:56

There's an app called the Morning After which is helpful for this

Auntieobem · 02/06/2022 12:57

Yes. Between 7 and 11 - about 14 hours.

VerifiedBot2351 · 02/06/2022 12:57

Yes but I’m a large person.

FieldOverFence · 02/06/2022 13:11

finishing drinking at 7pm, i would be fine to drive at 11am

If it goes to 9pm or after, not a great idea

TaranThePigKeeper · 02/06/2022 13:11

I think the guidance is one hour per unit drunk to metabolise the alcohol, but I don’t know how that would work with such a massive binge. I would strongly suspect the drinker would still be way over.

If this drinking is supposed to be happening later today, can I gently ask if it’s possible not to drink so much?

SirChenjins · 02/06/2022 13:14

2.3 units in a pint of normal strength lager - so that’s about 6/7 pints? Christ, no - I’d be paralytic on that, definitely wouldn’t be safe to drink 12-15 hours later.

Triffid1 · 02/06/2022 13:16

How many pints is that? But frankly, yes, I would. If I had a bad hangover, I might not get in the car for a long drive - but that's because I'd be tired, not so much over the limit.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 02/06/2022 13:16

No, I think you would still be over the limit. Can you go a few hours later?

MistyFrequencies · 02/06/2022 13:16

Yes. But I'd probably leave it another hour or so just to be safe. . I'd calculate an hour per drink so 11am is 16hrs after last drink, good to go. Just.

FuckingNoise · 02/06/2022 13:16

6 pints, now on the first!

Flumpsrus · 02/06/2022 13:18

I’m the exact same weight as you and I’d be on the floor drunk and unable to get out of bed the next day! But we’re all different.

Comedycook · 02/06/2022 13:19

I'd probably be dead if I drank that much...

But seriously...no one's forcing you to drink that much.

FuckingNoise · 02/06/2022 13:19

If it matters I am quite a heavy drinker so 6 pints won't get me shit faced. But I doubt it matters - systems are systems etc

OP posts:
MovingatPace · 02/06/2022 13:22

Surely your body doesn't wait until you have finished drinking to start metabolizing alcohol. So the unit will start being processed per hour from when you started drinking. I'd be fine to drive but may have a hangover and would possibly be tired too, which would put me off driving.

playtest12 · 02/06/2022 13:22

After 6 pints I wouldn't drive for 24hrs.

I'd be hungover enough to be groggy and rough.

Yeah, that’s pretty heavy binge drinking. Up to you and all that, but not a good idea to get behind the wheel less than 24 hours later if you’ve drunk that much.

ApolloandDaphne · 02/06/2022 13:31

I wouldn't think twice about this and I am very careful about not being over the limit the day after drinking. It's 6 pints and you will have 16 hours before you drive again. I doubt you will be over the limit.

FuckingNoise · 02/06/2022 13:32

Wow is 6 pints over a whole afternoon and part evening really that bad? Even at say a wedding or all day barbecue etc? Looks like I need to reevaluate my "letting my hair down" days 🙈

OP posts:
toomuchlaundry · 02/06/2022 13:33

How do you know you are going to have 6 pints?

For those saying you will feel fine to drive in the morning, it’s not just how you feel but whether you would still be over the limit. Obviously, if you still feel rough you shouldn’t drive whether over the limit or not

Figgygal · 02/06/2022 13:34

Youre day drinking over a number of hours. I assume there will be food and you can go bed earlier rather than later so yes id drive on that basis.
If you concerned and this is tomorrow why not have one drink less?

FuckingNoise · 02/06/2022 13:35

That's my mental budget if you get me. Doesn't even mean I'll have that much but that's the amount / time I'll definitely stop
