What would you expect a "bottomless brunch" to be?

Girly weekend away, bottomless brunch suggested, at around £20 per head. All agreed. Ended up being £12 more.

What would you expect from it?

A breakfast/brunch type meal and unlimited prosecco

The food and potentially bottomless tea and coffee.

Something like eggs benedict and then unlimited prosecco.

All you can eat buffet with included tea/coffee and refills. Wouldn't expect or want booze at that time of the morning.

Unlimited prosecco or similar type drink with English breakfast or other cooked options eg American pancakes, waffles, etc.

Usually a choice of food...but you can only choose one item. Like a pp said, eggs benedict, smoked salmon, a burger, waffles,
Then unlimited prosecco

Unlimited but crap quality buffet breakfast and free refills of bucks fizz type drinks.

Buffet meal of eggs, pastries, bagels, fruit sort of thing, maybe with prosecco and tea/coffee

I’d check the menu as some places do it differently. Most places I’ve seen have £10-15 price increase per person if you want to upgrade prosecco to cocktails, and often everyone on the table has to upgrade. I’d expect brunch type food, and usually a brunch pudding as well. Though £20 per person seems very cheap, so I’d be aware that not everything might be included.

Just to add based on other posts, I wouldn’t expect a buffet. I’d expect a menu of plated food such as a cooked breakfast, waffles and bacon, eggs Benedict, avocado and eggs on toast, mushrooms on toast.

A meal and 2 hours of certain drinks

This has recently become a thing and anecdotally it's cheap fizz and cheap food (and usually you only get the table for a few hours)

It's something geared towards the younger crowd / hen dos / cheaper end of the market.

If we want brunch we just go somewhere nice for brunch. Bottomless would turn me in the other direction (I'm clearly not the target market as I don't like breakfast food much and I hate daytime drinking)

I was surprised to find out that most bottomless brunches don't have unlimited food. As a greedy non drinker...I'd rather have bottomless food than alcohol

Bottomless Brunch to me means booze. If not then it’s just brunch.

so a brunch meal then lots of Prosecco top ups. But some places are a bit shit with refilling and there’s a time limit, so you might only get three glasses.

It's usually a breakfast dish like eggs benedict, avocado toast and unlimited prosecco

1 plate of food picked from a small list, unlimited prosecco for 2 hours (in practice about 4-5 glasses).

Although it's brunch it's usually about 1pm.

This, with the Prosecco/other drinks usually for a set time period (e.g 90 mins) anything after that is paid for

fancy brunch... so a main type thing, eggs benedict, full english, omelette, french toast

Something puddingy... croissants, fruit, muffin?

Juice, tea/coffee and prosecco/mimosas, champagne if you are lucky!

A menu of brunch type foods that you order from and “unlimited” prosecco or similar. In reality likely the prosecco will not actually be unlimited as it will rely on the wait staff coming round and topping you up individually rather than bringing bottles to the table do they can pace how much is available. Generally it will be time limited too so will only be for two hours.

I've never had a brunch in the UK SO no idea what's normal here. But from my experience of brunches in the UAE I was thinking drink, drink and more drink with a side of amazing cheesecake food.

Lots of not great food and cheap Prosecco.

I’m guessing the £20 was unlimited brunch foods and you paid an extra £12 each for unlimited prosecco on top

then unlimited Prosecco / cocktails (with an option to upgrade to champagne / better cocktails).

One item off the food menu then bottomless prosecco or cocktail but probsy not v quick service
