I wonder if Ed Milliband is able to do such a good job because he is not the leader, and so doesn't have all the burdens that brings

Quite likely. I just think he's good at the despatch box. There are a number of Labour politicians who are good orators.
Ed Milliband, Yvette Cooper, David Lammy etc. And I have a soft spot for Thangam Debbonaire, Shadow Leader of the HoC, I met her once, before she took on this position, she was lovely.

I don't like him or anyone in the Labour party. That is why I didn't vote this time for the first time in 50 plus years, because the whole of the Labour party think that people can change sex - they can't

@saliwales2022 Can you help me understand what you are saying. You think that everyone in the Labour party, everyone, not some, but everyone, thinks that it is possible for someone to change from XX to XY or from XY to XX?

Could you perhaps supply me with one example of a member of the Labour party saying this?

"Peter Bone: ‘it was only when we got a PM prepared to lie that we got Brexit done’"

What the hell??? Anyone know if this quote is correct?

saliwales2022 · 17/05/2022 17:14

Annilese Dodds, Angela Rayner and most importantly Keir Starmer. There are probably others! I think the Lib Dems think the same. And if course the Green party. I am so tired of it all. There is no-one to vote for!

I forgot Yvette Cooper. I have a shocking memory!

Notonthestairs · 17/05/2022 17:30

Ah I found the Bone clip. He was saying May took too long trying to make an actual workable agreement, Johnson was better because he didn't focus on the deal.

Is that basically confirming that Johnson signed the agreement with great dishonesty, thinking that he would renege on it if he needed to?

Notonthestairs · 17/05/2022 17:41

Tweet with Peter Bone clip - but yes that's the jist I'm getting from it Claudine.

Is there any evidence to support this claim? Wes Streeting doesn’t, I doubt he’s alone.

saliwales2022 · 17/05/2022 17:45

Of course there is. David Lammy has no idea what a cervix or a woman is! Didn't Starmer say that only a woman has a cervix should NEVER be said!

MarshaBradyo · 17/05/2022 17:50

David Lammy was very irritating with the dinosaur quote

Giving away women’s rights is easy if you’re a man

admittedly some women are keen too

DuncinToffee · 17/05/2022 17:53

But Johnson knows what a woman is.

Anyone seen Sue Gray?

You said ALL. That’s patently untrue.

Don’t trans men have cervixes? Freddy McConnell certainly has.

borntobequiet · 17/05/2022 17:54

because the whole of the Labour party think that people can change sex

I doubt you’re right on that. How on Earth would you know?

Notonthestairs · 17/05/2022 17:55

It's not my job to persuade to vote for any party.

But maybe when mulling it over you might factor in the 7.5 million living in relative poverty, the 3.34 women carers (many of whom will be living in relative poverty) and 14.6 disabled men & women (35% of disabled women earn less than the living wage), the terrible underfunding of legal services (which impacts the dreadful low rates of rape prosecutions), the fact that women will be disproportionately impacted by the cost of living crisis. None of it is getting better.

ClaudineClare · 17/05/2022 17:58

Please can we keep the trans debate on the FWR boards?

MarshaBradyo · 17/05/2022 17:58

Not are you a conservative voter?

I remember someone saying they were in response to Labour supporters post

Piggywaspushed · 17/05/2022 18:00

BREAKING - Unnamed Tory MP arrested on charges of sexual assault and rape.

The disabled are going to be far and away the biggest losers in the cost of living crisis. The word disabled or allied ideas has been used EIGHT times in 8 years in parliament. Once as a joke.

The rights of disabled people is a huge issue.

ClaudineClare · 17/05/2022 17:58

It would be nice, wouldn’t it? Hard when posters pop in specifically to raise it though.

Notonthestairs · 17/05/2022 18:02

Probably could have been persuaded once upon a time. But not whilst this shower are anywhere near the Cabinet.

DuncinToffee · 17/05/2022 18:03

Sky News

Conservative MP arrested over rape and sexual assault allegations spanning seven-year period.

Met said a man in 50s arrested in suspicion of indecent assault, sexual assault, rape, abuse of position of trust & misconduct in public office

Piggywaspushed · 17/05/2022 18:05

Life costs you £538 MORE a month if you are disabled. Imagine this.

4.5 million children live in poverty. 43% of these live in a household where someone is disabled.

These are huge issues.
