Do you do that? Re-wear them?

What do you do when you wear your clothes again (apart from keep downwind of other people of course!)

"Do you wash your pits every day? Why? Because they're smelly if you don't. So why would the piece of fabric under them be any different?"

Because before putting the top on you washed your armpits and put on anti-perspirant. If it's a good anti-perspirant you won't sweat while wearing it.

Good, we're all laughing then 😂

I feel sorry for people doing so much washing & tumbledrying on an endless cycle of clean freakery and being so upset that a stranger might catch a 'whiff' of you wearing a pair of jeans twice in a row 😂 some Mumsnet cleanliness overload constitutes - and I say these words as inoffensively and lightheartedly as possible so please take it that way - OCD / neurosis / anxiety / some sort of mental excess towards cleanliness in the extreme

Notanotherwindow · 07/05/2022 19:42

We are pretty clean freak atm. My niece (4) has cancer and pretty much no immune system. Everything in this place smells of dettol

StuckInTheMiddleOfNowhere · 07/05/2022 20:04

I try to wear a jumper twice or jeans but my kids do love to put dirty sticky hands on me. Or if im wiping youngest down after tea he grabs me and covers me.

So 95% of the time everything is once.

Dh will weat his uniform twice but its a messy job with stained clothes so doesnt matter

Younger kids maybe a t shirt if had a jumper on top but if not it gets filthy in garden, park etc
Eldest sweaty teen no chance

My Washing is never ending. But im a saddo and love washing and pegging it all out. I dry outside all year unless raining and in winter just finish it 10 min in tumble or airer in conservatory.

StillMedusa · 07/05/2022 21:57

I do a load of washing every day.. dh has a manual job, DS2 is autistic and cannot cope with wearing anything more than once. My jeans and top layer usually does a couple of days but t shirts and undies washed every day.
I hang everything outside though unless it's raining. If I can every persuade DS2 to wear something more than once, the washing will decrease!

Jux · 08/05/2022 15:13

My point exactly!

I wear jeans twice unless they're knee marked and maybe a bra if its not hot weather but not tops, that's disgusting. No wonder so many people smell.

Not even slightly disgusting. Not even a teeny tiny amount. Get a grip”

this ^

what is disgusting is the way people waste increasingly limited resources and release plastic/chemicals in excessive laundry loads without a second thought.
