I have a 24 hour ban on facebook now for saying "you're a dog mate" to a man/woman with a dog avatar, who asked if I was a child because my avatar is a cartoon.

I previously got a ban on facebook for saying "I wish we had a store here" in the comments to a shop advertisement.

I got a warning on here once for saying that all estate agents went to a special school for lying. Apparently there are lots of estate agents on here who weren’t very happy with me. Who knew. Grin

JeffreyArchersUnderpants · 10/04/2022 14:51

I got a 24 hour ban for "touting for organs" on Instagram because when I had slipped a disc I used the hashtag "can I have a spine transplant please".

ZaraSizeMedium · 10/04/2022 14:53

I got a Twitter ban for stating a biological fact. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Hellocatshome · 10/04/2022 14:53

I was banned from Facebook for tying to sell an animal. I was trying to sell a steam cleaner than vaguely looked a bit like a penguin.

If it was that biological fact, you're certainly not alone...
DomingoinLittleOakley · 10/04/2022 16:12

I had a FB ban for calling someone (a friend no less, not just some random) a 'silly sausage'. Apparently it goes against their bullying and harassment rules.

AmaraShay · 10/04/2022 16:12

A 24 hour ban for posting a nude photograph.

It was a fully dressed children's doll Confused

Ah yes.

Was also banned for trying to sell an animal.

I was in fact posting a gumtree listing to a local rescue as a dog was being sold for £10 and I asked if they could help.

FB decided it was my dog/advert and a 24 hr ban.

GreyCarpet · 10/04/2022 16:15

I'm in a keto group. Obviously the word fat comes up a lot.

Everyone now has to type 'f@t' every single time because people started getting banned for using the word 'fat' even when the post was just a photo of a meal and macro information.

wanttomarryamillionaire · 10/04/2022 16:28

As amusing as these are, the implications of people constantly being banned for certain words or views is actually quite frightening.

Clawdy · 10/04/2022 16:28

After Phil Spector died, a sixties pop Facebook group had posts saying how wonderful he was and they hoped he was up in heaven playing his music. I said something like "As a wife-beater and convicted killer, I doubt he is resting in peace!" My post was removed, although it got lots of "likes" and I was banned for a month!

beattieedny · 10/04/2022 16:32

I've never had one, which is astonishing really given I've been on message board's since the early days of the www. And I'm not very nice, often!

Theunamedcat · 10/04/2022 16:37

someone told me my special needs child should be dead there was no need to bring him into the world and its only right and fair that medical treatment be restricted for the likes of him and so on the vile word vomit made me sick i reported it and commented "your nasty" i got a ban for bullying there vile comment was allowed to stand as it "didn't violate community guidelines" i challenged it as far as i could but got nowhere

But did you get any offers?

I got a 2 week Twitter ban for calling Donald Trump “an absolute cunt of a man who was trying to Disneyfy Scotland”.
Then he became President, so I expect I’m on a list somewhere now.
I wasn’t wrong though.

girlmom21 · 10/04/2022 19:23

You don't get bans without warnings so, whilst some of these seem daft, you've got to be intentionally difficult, at the very least.

Why?
Neverreturntoathread · 10/04/2022 19:25

I got a twitter ban for re-posting a cute picture of a kitten. I assume a mistake was made, but didn’t bother challenging it because I found Twitter a poisonous place anyway.

Scrolling too fast on FB.

alwayswrighty · 10/04/2022 19:27

I got a 30 day ban this month for something I posted in December 2020. It was a meme and I can't remember what it alluded to. Currently still serving my sentence.

IDidntWearASmileToday · 10/04/2022 19:28

I said "I'll beat you" - I was talking about playing a game against my friend!

yes you do get bans without warning, you get a pop up saying your post violates our community standards or something and then your banned from posting for 24 or more hours.
