re withdrawal by Nato from some of the areas that they promised they wouldn't put bases in -

yes danger would be leaving those territories unprotected ,but surely some clever diplomat could come up with wording that withdrawal would be reversed if Russia appeared to be making moves ?

It's easy to adopt a stance where Putin is not to be engaged with but this is what has led us to where we are now .And things aren't black and white ,Putin is not the same thing as Russians .

Mediation works on the principle of hearing both sides and working towards a solution where both sides feel they have gained something .If we adoptia position where Russia must be overcome and crushed we are not only as bad as them but perpetuating the current situation .

There is one clip of an artillery battery that has been abandoned while in full position. The guns look intact with hardly any evidence of material contact. They require specialised trucks to tow them. I find this highly corroborative of either equipment failure or Russian morale. A will equipped, trained and motivated regiment does not leave an intact battery of guns behind.

It's been put to a couple of current or ex-FSB members by a journo/expert with contacts who have said that it does seem likely to be a genuine leak.

I think a huge amount of people on twitter are idiots and another huge amount are trolls

Whilst invading Ukraine was inexcusable, I do believe that the NATO element has aggravated things. Of course, the Ukraine can do what it wants but my stylist (Russian) was saying to me yesterday that Boris would probably be less than happy if Scotland had allied with Russia and brought Russian military influence to our doorstep. Also that we too aren't hesitant to invade countries we perceive as a military threat.

I don't fully agree with her but she's right about the latter point.

Most missiles are remote anyway so a no fly zone won't do really work. Also, people on the internet are detached. They'll change their mind if missiles drop on all our major cities, even if they aren't nukes.

I think she just meant right on our borders. Using say France doesn't work as we're an island. She said if Scotland became independent and allied with Russia.
