So we didn't think Putin would invade Ukraine. He has. Didn't think he would bomb schools and hospitals and houses. He has.

I know the NATO etc countries are trying for it not to develop into a bigger war.

However what if it does. Surely London would be on the target list? We have camping stuff, am thinking of getting it together so we can get away from London.

Is anyone else?

@NoToLandfill

Point taken about the tent! I was thinking of going to northern Scotland. Don't think Putin would bother bombing there. Hence the tent.

But yes I am really worried. Will look at less news.

Do you know the UK's nuclear weapons are kept in Scotland?

@spleencoffin

I'd put an end to my loved ones suffering then end my days trying out as a post apocalyptic savage heroine like Charlize Theron in Mad Max

Quite fancy the idea of savagery and no rules to live by. I'd go and stab my cunt of a boss first

And I'll be like Charlize Theron in The Road. Just giving up and going outside to die.

Your best bet is the secret nuclear bunker in Kelvedon Hatch. Admission is £10 for adults (£8 for children) but it's probably wise to budget for price hikes on the day. Arrive early to beat the queues!

Millicent2022 · 04/03/2022 17:05

Please can the London population not all come to Cornwall at once like in Covid

GrannieD · 04/03/2022 17:08

I’m going camping tomorrow, not cos of Putin…just for fun !

If you didn't OP that makes two of you. The other one's Putin's mum!

JimmyDurham · 04/03/2022 17:11

Oh yes, as for bombing schools and hospitals, he already has form for this. Google "Grozny".

spaceman1 · 04/03/2022 17:14

It's probably worth stocking up on essentials like loo paper and canned foods just in case people start to panic.

throughtheair · 04/03/2022 17:15

Nobody will be getting to Cornwall in the case of nuclear war, the route down takes you right past devonport dockyard which would be obliterated

ChocolateButtonsOfShame · 04/03/2022 17:22

@felulageller

There's plenty of space for wild camping in Sutherland.

No one will bother nuking there.

Naa too many midgies. Think I'd prefer to get nuked.
LaurieFairyCake · 04/03/2022 17:30

Putins kid cannot possibly be in London ShockShockShock

How many will one mumsnet rat feed?
Plenty if you serve it with a massive salad...
User48751490 · 04/03/2022 17:34

Think I would be more concerned about Trident based over on the west coast, than London.

wingscrow · 04/03/2022 17:37

As a Londoner I would say do us all a favour and leave now....

What exactly is the point of these ridiculous posts?

Waxonwaxoff0 · 04/03/2022 17:42

Please get a grip.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 04/03/2022 17:43

@LampLighter414

A couple of my friends have vacated to their holiday homes in Cornwall, they figure it is at very low risk of being targeted and pretty far from London!
Ah, how the middle class live. Hilarious.

😆

sorry i think your are underestimating the situation a bit

tyoy · 04/03/2022 18:00

Well no, seeing the way they've bombed Ukraine cities it's taking days.

Er they can't really attack us in the same way

Lollypop701 · 04/03/2022 18:10

If we’re panick buying for an apocalypse then fray bentos pies must be up there?

StarbucksSmarterSister · 04/03/2022 18:11

Didn't think he would bomb schools and hospitals and houses

Seriously? Based on what he did in Syria (and Chechnya) I'd have thought it was totally obvious he would. I'm dreading what he'll do if his ground war stalls much more.

I'm no longer in London ( but not far away) but no I wouldn't leave.

CowboyJo · 04/03/2022 18:12

Look at COVID. We all thought it'd stay in China. But look what happened.

It's good to be cautious.

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 04/03/2022 18:12

Honestly, the idea of living in a nuclear winter with my collection of camping stuff sounds shite OP. Think I'd rather stay in London and get it over with.
