Gwynedd & Anglesey so half term is one day early.

Rollonspring1111 · 17/02/2022 20:05

Amber warning here and all schools open up to now.
I'm dreading it!

Hb12 · 17/02/2022 20:07

A couple of high schools closed here on Isle of Wight

crackofdoom · 17/02/2022 20:07

S Cornwall here, and the schools have closed , with the kids set online work. Which will be tricky if the power goes off...🤔

INeedNewShoes · 17/02/2022 20:15

@HelenaJustina

Where do you get the info for the Bucks schools?

The council webpage for school closures only seems to show the current day. I know lots in Aylesbury have closed but that's not showing on the website.

I'm hoping ours will close. The roads to the village are tree lined and I don't feel comfortable with the risk.

I thought local councils advised on closures?

@Livelovebehappy

We’ve just had Storm Dudley in the North yesterday. No school closures here. Just got on with it....
Wow. The whole of the North is just amazing.
jennymac31 · 17/02/2022 20:30

We're in Bristol and our schools are closed tomorrow.

Benjispruce5 · 17/02/2022 20:33

It’s half term anyway.

jennymac31 · 17/02/2022 20:34

Our half-term is next week.

MillyMollyMandyMaybe · 17/02/2022 20:34

The email I had from the county council this afternoon says all school transport has been cancelled for tomorrow morning, so if you rely on it and your school hasn’t chosen to close, it’s worth knowing about.

MillyMollyMandyMaybe · 17/02/2022 20:35

From the email

Schools closed tomorrow due to weather
imamumgetmeoutofhere · 17/02/2022 20:35

Closed in our area of Dorset

Benjispruce5 · 17/02/2022 20:37

Had no idea there was so much variation in half terms in England .Thought it was only private schools that had different holidays.

Butchyrestingface · 17/02/2022 20:38

Just north of Dundee. Apparently it's anyone's fucking guess whether the trains will be running in Central Scotland tomorrow.

wineandsunshine · 17/02/2022 20:40

South coast here - secondary shut.

I'm a teacher at the junior school and still open so far!

livinthedream1995 · 17/02/2022 20:42

My eldests school had an inset day anyway, but toddlers nursery has asked we keep our kids off unless they need to be at nursery tomorrow. SE England

MatildaJayne · 17/02/2022 20:44

My school in Cheltenham is closed. Poor kids having to do online lessons though. Very last minute for the teachers to prepare! I’d prefer an old fashioned snow day, but I guess the kids have missed enough.

I suspect parts of the county will be without electricity, so it might well end up being moot.

@MysteriousMonkey

Four children at four different schools. Two of which are closed.
Four children at four different schools, bloody hell I feel sweaty just thinking about it
NinaDefoe · 17/02/2022 20:49

I can’t remember a time when schools have closed because a storm has been forecast can anyone else?
Obviously snow days happen most years but not storms.
