Mine was Disney's Peter Pan. I was six. I really wanted to be Wendy, and asked my dad on the way out "How old is Wendy?" He replied "About ten, I think." I was really cross with him! Smile

Police academy 5! My mother wasn't sure about that, think she thought the cinema was a bit evil! 😆

Ferngully and the Last Rainforest

ladygindiva · 13/02/2022 21:21

Another ET here. I remember my dad cried.

FantasticFebruary · 13/02/2022 21:25

Absolutely NO idea! It was probably about 50 Years ago!! Apparently my older cousins or young Aunty used to walk me into town (3 miles) to go. It would have been one of the Disney's I'm sure.

TonksInPurple · 13/02/2022 21:27

Jungle book around mid 80s!

augustusglupe · 13/02/2022 21:29

Dumbo. Around 1970, I was 5 or 6, my older sister took me.

DeedIDo · 13/02/2022 21:29

Summer Holiday with Cliff Richard. We got in at the second attempt. First time we queued round the block and still didn't get in.

The Wizard of Oz. I was 4 so can't remember it but my late mum said she was so fed up as she was really excited to see the film (she went with my aunties and their kids who were a very similar age) but as soon as the wicked witch appeared I was terrified and wouldn't stop screaming so she/we had to leave. I can't remember her ever taking me to the cinema again actually 😂

Pascha · 13/02/2022 21:40

The Neverending Story. I was terrified.

Daisy03 · 13/02/2022 21:41

Return to oz, nightmares for months afterwards, it's taken me till recently to be able to watch it again

RedRobyn2021 · 13/02/2022 21:41

The first I can actually remember was Flubber, it was a film staring Robin Williams he was scientist and accidentally created a blob called Flubber 😂

Bouledeneige · 13/02/2022 21:42

Bambi. We had to leave as I cried so much when the Mum died - literally 3 minutes in.

sunshineandshowers40 · 13/02/2022 21:42

Bambi, must have been a release. Would have been mid 80's and my Dad fell asleep.

Lovemusic33 · 13/02/2022 21:44

Lady and the tramp

Bluebellbike · 13/02/2022 21:45

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. 1968. I was 8 years old. Saw it several times as my brother and I loved it.

MrsGHarrison87 · 13/02/2022 21:50

Think it might have been Aladdin

LottyD32 · 13/02/2022 21:50

The care bears film, and they gave me a weird record with the song on it, it was floppy like paper, not a hard vinyl one.

SuperSocks · 13/02/2022 21:51

@ MaebeaorNot Aww that's really sweet!

SuperSocks · 13/02/2022 21:52

It was Beauty and the Beast for me, when I was around 4 or 5. Apparently it came out in 1991 though, and I was only 2 then? Were they so slow releasing new films in those days they used to show older ones too? I'm sure that's not a thing any more is it, except special 'remastered' versions maybe?

AKASammyScrounge · 13/02/2022 21:56

Disney's 'Sleeping Beauty'. My parents took me to see it as a special treat. One look at Mellificent growing out of the glowing green ball and I screamed the house down and had to be taken home.. I had nightmares for months after that.
